What does this fragrance want to tell me? That remains a SECRET...
A sample was included in a swap package from dear Baerli - thank you very much for that. I'm not really surprised that this fragrance hasn't been commented on yet; there’s simply nothing truly outstanding - neither in a positive nor a negative sense - to say about it. However, I would like to describe it briefly, as I believe it might be something for one or the other.
It starts off very fresh, but is immediately somewhat "muted." Very quickly, jasmine takes the lead, but not in the way that other jasmine-heavy fragrances do - which can quickly become headache-inducing - because cardamom spices things up from the outset and the other flowers round it out.
It pretty much stays that way; it gradually becomes a bit rounder, which might be due to the vanilla, although I can't really detect it at first, which personally pleases me a lot. It seems to be used here so well that it simply rounds off the fragrance without pushing itself to the forefront.
All in all, the fragrance is okay, but it really doesn't inspire enthusiasm in me. It's an absolute "go-to," wearable when you can't think of anything else and also don't want to come across as too "over-perfumed."
The fragrance "scratches" at the border of "good" for me, but I really don't want to commit to that.
The longevity was quite decent for me; I could still easily perceive it after 6 or 7 hours, and the sillage, despite the jasmine, is limited, although - when generously sprayed on hair and clothing - it will surely "accompany" you for some time, but I didn't want to put that to the test, sorry ;-)
I only see the bottle here in the picture, and I personally don't find it appealing. So it doesn't need to be in my collection for either aesthetic or olfactory reasons ;-)
Thus, the name is at least aptly chosen: The fragrance says absolutely nothing at all, so it remains "(M)y Secret" by Amélie Bourgeois.
