A Refined, Youthful Take on a Classic

Today I received the envelope from the boutique with the sample they sent me to try before getting my full bottle – and I have to say, the fragrance is absolutely fantastic!

It opens with a bright, uplifting burst of orange and peach that immediately takes you to the skies. Once it starts to settle on the skin, you can sense the familiar DNA of Diaghilev Parfum coming through – but in a much younger, lighter, and more wearable version.

It’s less spicy, less heavy than the original Diaghilev, yet still retains that refined elegance. The blend with Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie (2024) adds a smooth sweetness of vanilla and amber that perfectly rounds it out.

This is definitely a fragrance for those who find the original Diaghilev too bold or mature – this one makes that profile much more approachable and versatile.

Extremely well done and high quality. A scent that fits so many situations, and in my opinion, absolutely worth it for anyone who loves this kind of olfactory profile.

210 Drops of Eternity

It was a warm summer evening in London, and the sun was slowly disappearing behind the rooftops of the city. I had been waiting all day to finally open the small, heavy bottle that I had picked up from the dealer with trembling hands. There were only 210 of these, and one was now in front of me.

The golden light of the evening filtered through the glass, making the contents shimmer like liquid amber. With the first spray, a radiant citrus accord spread through the air-bright, clear, almost like freshly squeezed orange juice, but more refined, smoother, restrained by an invisible hand. I closed my eyes and for a brief moment felt as if I were back on the first floor of Harrods Perfumery, where Roja Dove once had his boutique.

The notes evolved further, and with them, my mood shifted. After the radiant opening, a warm, almost velvety vanilla settled on my skin. Along with it, a hint of peach, sweet but not cloying, more like the smile of a familiar person you meet again after a long time.

And then, suddenly, the depth arrived: leather, amber, a dark, sun-soaked labdanum. The fragrance took on a gravity, a seriousness as if to say, "Beauty alone is not enough; you also need presence."

I caught myself standing in front of the mirror longer than usual. The scent felt like a garment that you don’t just wear, but that transforms you. Suddenly, I was not just me-I was a little taller, a little more confident, a little more in harmony with myself.

When I later stepped out onto the street, the sillage mingled with the cool evening air. A stranger woman paused briefly, looked at me, and smiled. She said nothing, but I knew she had noticed it. Not just the fragrance, but also what it had awakened in me.

In that moment, it became clear to me: Roja Dove Perfumery is not just a perfume. It is a memory of all the journeys, conversations, and encounters that Roja has woven into the world of scents, and at the same time, a small piece of eternity, captured in 210 bottles.

Rojas "Perfumery" Grows Up - A Best Of!

Here it is. As a big Roja fan, I had to get this fragrance and was already invited to the official launch event at Harrods by the Roja Dove Perfumery.
There, I had the chance to meet Roja Dove himself. He shared a lot about the history of his works and how this fragrance came to be.

Interestingly, it was his employees who came up with the 21 idea. At 21, you are really truly of age in the UK.
So, does the fragrance smell grown-up?

Mhm, yes and no. For me, it’s just right:

You take aldehydes

- the floral notes of Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie (2019)

- the fruity aspect and peach from Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie (2024)

- the juicy orange juice opening (thankfully not too sweet) of Lost in Paris

And underneath, it pushes a more modern and pleasant atmosphere with a clearly recognizable DNA from Diaghilev Parfum.

Et voila. We have the fragrance.

I love this version. If I could only keep one of the three, it would be this one, as it brings everything together.
For some, it might be different, but I am happy for the chance to meet Roja and to have acquired the fragrance.

The Perfumery releases have all been strong, including Chou Chou and many more, but unfortunately, some of the recent Roja Parfums releases have been less exciting.

Let’s see how Elysium Noir turns out in the fall…

A Dream - But Familiar?

After months of waiting, the long-awaited fragrance finally arrived. I have had almost only good experiences with Roja so far, which is why I was particularly excited about this one. As soon as it arrived, I had to test it immediately...

And WOW! It starts with a real explosion of scent from light citrus, soft leather, and above all one thing: vanilla. It impressed me so much that I had to write my first review about it..

Over time, more notes emerge: After the citrus quickly fades away for me, subtle floral notes, amber, and labdanum join in. However, vanilla remains the star of the show, although it now also gets a co-star. Peach! I was particularly looking forward to this as it has definitely become one of my favorite notes, and it fits perfectly here.
From here, a certain familiarity with the scent profile develops, and I pondered for a long time where I knew it from... until it finally dawned on me: "Triumph of Bacchus (Eau de Parfum) | Argos." This combination of peach and vanilla bears an extremely strong resemblance to the ToB for me. This is not meant to be negative at all; I think it smells amazing, but well, it is also quite known...

We don't need to discuss price-performance; like most Rojas, this one is also very expensive, and everyone has to decide for themselves whether it is worth the money :) The bottle and lacquer box are, of course, a 10 as is typical for Roja.

Is the fragrance good? Definitely, for me a 10/10.

Should you get it? Well, aside from the bottle, the packaging, and the fact that it is limited, I would say that you can definitely get the ToB for a better price.
