Balm not just for the soul
Yesterday, I read in amazement the latest blog post by MissPiggy about the so-called Nibs, which essentially function similarly to the sample vials that we like to send to each other here in abundance, namely as little appetizers and something special that one doesn’t enjoy all the time.
Today, I would like to sincerely thank LiquidLuck once again, who gifted me, among other things, samples from Swiss Arabian, a manufacturer I had not consciously noticed until then.
It would actually be quite a decent name for an airline.
In the meantime, I have of course done some research and now know that it is a company founded in 1974 from the United Arab Emirates that has formed an alliance with the Swiss company Givaudan. Hence, probably the name.
Black Heaven came to me in the form of a perfume oil.
The brown liquid greets me with a warm amber-resinous-balsamic scent upon opening the vial, and I believe I can also detect a hint of rose oil.
I immediately think of the massage oil from the Hammam series by Yves Rocher, which I really like and which, when massaged into the still damp skin after showering, yields a super soft result and has a similarly warm-balsamic scent.
On the skin, the oil leaves the typical greasy film, and depending on how strongly or gently one rubs it in, different facets of the scent reveal themselves.
Sometimes it unfolds a fine sweet tobacco aroma, then it is again resinous with a slightly smoky note or almost liqueur-like.
And rose is also in there, I still want to claim.
Oud I cannot detect this time, nor can I smell coffee, but I don’t miss that either.
I perceive almost all of these oriental fragrance oils only very subtly and close to the skin, including Black Heaven.
Which is a shame, because it is a beautiful winter comfort cuddle scent that I would like to be a bit stronger.
Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this Nib and will keep an eye on the Swiss Arabian brand.
