Valentino Oud Essence

Dark, mysterious! That's how I would describe this perfume! The combination of saffron, oud and leather transports you to a dark forest house surrounded by a pine forest! The longevity of this fragrance is about 8 hours! The projection of this perfume is similar to that of Ombre Nomade! I would recommend it to every oud fan!

hmmmm next!

I tried both Valentino Noir absolu Musc essence and oud essence today.
On the blotter strip, Musc essence was sooo shockingly lacking any fragrance.It was more like nuances from really really far away, so i didn't spray it on me.
On the other hand Oud essence, was the exact opposite, so i did 1 spray on my wrist.I first got a proper fecal punch, like true oud oils/ proper oud accords have with a saffron presence and was very happy with it. then 1/2 hour later it was almost entirely gone, what wafted was a faint cacao/labdanum(? not 100% sure) with a sugary/ buttery/ confectionery "charge".
Overall, nothing special, not great sillage, terrible longevity.The actual fragrance is quite pleasing to me but nothing that hasn't been fashioned before.I can find more interesting perfumes around that price tag(148 euro Athens/Greece)

"the little brother" of Ombre Nomade

Anyone who knows Ombre Nomade will think after spraying it, "I've smelled this before." I certainly felt that way with the top note.
Apparently, the same (synthetic?) oud is used for this fragrance. Although there is no raspberry present, I thought I smelled something fruity, it could also be a plum.
Later, there is a development towards a dry spiciness. In the drydown, I thought I smelled something like pipe tobacco, which was very pleasant.
Noir Absolu Oud Essence really appeals to me, but I find the price of nearly 200,-, even though it is like the little brother of Ombre Nomade, significantly too high.
