Crisp fruity sweetness
Eau Mega is quite different to Flowerbomb, by the same house. Even though both fragrances are quite sweet, Flowerbomb tends to be sugary and candied, while Eau Mega is crisp and refreshing.

Everyone is mentioning a melon note, however when I first smelt Eau Mega, I immediately detected pear. The opening is a little similar to Champs Elysees by Guerlain, just not as strong and more watery.

The scent is certainly very pretty and great for Summer, however I believe that I would tire of this fragrance quickly. There's nothing overly outstanding about it. What makes it worse is that there has been a sudden boom of Summery, almost aquatic, light fruity scents on the market recently. I'm using the D&G Anthology Series as an example. There are some direct comparisons to L'Imperatrice, L'Amoureaux and La Lune in this fragrance.

When the initial refreshing pear note subsides in the opening, the basil appears alongside the peony and jasmine, which is an interestingly unique blend. The peony is not strong here thankfully, so the fragrance continues with its subtle and crisp quality.

Strangely enough I can only smell the lemon note in the drydown, which to my nose is mostly lemon and musk.

Eau Mega is nice. I wouldn't say that it's particularly green or floral, it kind of sits between being a fruity floral and an aquatic. My only gripes with Eau Mega is the ridiculous price and the clunky, impractical bottle which looks incredibly cheap and nasty in real life. The spray mechanism makes it very difficult to apply in a hurry, as I do most mornings.

The lasting strength also wasn't too impressive for the high price tag.

Relaxing day by a crystal clear pool
Eau Mega is a refreshing fragrance with a lovely balance of soft flowers, fruits and aquatic tones. It is one of those scents that bring feelings of harmony, balance and relaxation. I can see myself doing Pilates or yoga while wearing this scent. It does not overpower the wearer. It is safe to wear for everyday activities where you just want to smell fresh and pleasant.

The fruit notes in the opening remind me so much of a fruit salad (in a good way) with juicy watermelon, melon and pear. I know that the first two are not listed as the notes, but I do smell them here. The aquatic notes are pleasant and gentle like an ocean breeze. Peony and jasmine are soft and feminine. The sillage is not overpowering. I usually spray a generous amount. While the scent is not strong, it lasts for at least 7-8 hours. The dry down is a soft musk.

Eau Mega is a lovely aquatic scent and though it is slightly synthetic, I find it quite wearable and pleasant in summer time.

Down with the sleazy villains!
I don't really remember how I came across Eau mega. Probably because of the unusual name and the peculiar bottle. Additionally, I am still on the lookout for a fresh, summery scent.

Today while strolling, I saw the golden bottle, which somehow resembles a futuristic scepter. Since there were no test strips available, I sprayed it directly on the back of my hand. After all, that's more telling. Unfortunately, the bottle is not very handy. You have to press the Viktor & Rolf symbol to spray. I find the bottle quite wobbly and oddly proportioned. It looks like a sideways glance is enough to make it topple over. But it stands out and is something different.

The scent starts off quite alcoholic. You have to wait a moment before the fragrance becomes enjoyable. Basil is only perceptible as a subtle green hint and lacks any spiciness. However, I don't find that problematic. I really like the scent when you hold your nose directly over a pot of basil, but I wouldn't want to smell like that myself. The first impression is fresh, aquatic, slightly green, and quite zesty. It also reminds me a bit of cucumber, very interesting. The pear seems somewhat distorted; personally, it reminds me more of honeydew melon. Not the overripe fruit, but something diluted, yet aromatic and very summery. A light sweetness lingers and makes the scent cheerful. Fortunately, the fragrance doesn't become too sweet to make it unbearable in the summer.

As I left the department store and walked through the city with my umbrella open in the pouring rain, I noticed the strong sillage. The projection is expansive and gives the scent volume. In any case, the fragrance lifts your spirits. Now a beautiful citrus note emerges, which refreshes pleasantly and doesn't drift into a bland dish soap mixture. The floral notes shine in competition. A bit soapy, slightly powdery, and throughout, the lovely, sparkling, and aquatic impression remains. Eau mega cannot really be described as woody; the sandalwood is only subtly noticeable, as is the musk. The citrus and aquatic notes dominate until the end. They are gently underscored by the cool cedar, while the flowers gradually fade away. What remains is a fresh, cool, slightly floral hint.

The longevity is quite good. After about six hours, the scent is still well perceptible and hasn't lost much of its projection. Even multiple hand washes do not affect it. For going out or generally for partying, the scent is a bit too light. Otherwise, it is a good companion for the workday, leisure, and sports. I would prefer to wear the scent in spring or summer. Or even in winter, if I feel like a freshness kick.

However, I find the advertising poorly designed. A blonde, long-legged model wrapped in a golden, shimmering cloth. Dramatically fluttering behind her like a superhero's cape. In the background, a golden skyline can be seen. Perhaps the metropolis that this heroine protects? What kind of villains does such an Amazon fight, and is the fresh, aquatic scent her superpower? Do her enemies perhaps have a shower allergy, and do they seek refuge in the clean breeze? One does not know.
I really like the scent, and it definitely makes it to the shortlist for summer fragrances.

GOLDSTÄNDER
What I really like about this fragrance is the scent! Well, one could say that’s exactly what it’s about, but the off-putting packaging and the somewhat awkward name would have personally deterred me from buying it. EAU MEGA EDP by Viktor & Rolf is a gift!

After today, which was the first appearance of EAU MEGA, I’m actually glad that I have it now. A nice start, a bit of violet, lemon (hello basil, where are you??). During the subsequent development of the scent, I had olfactory memories; J’adore briefly flitted by, for a moment I thought of Petite Chérie, then of Donna Karan’s Be Delicious (especially when the scent wafted from my hair).

When the aquatic element becomes noticeable, the aroma of honeydew melon mixes in on my skin, and that really convinced me. I like it aquatic and honeydew melon anyway (it’s actually not even in there). In the base, EAU MEGA (oh man, the name is so silly) then caresses the skin, the aquatic note recedes.

I like all the notes, and there’s a lovely scent development. The fragrance is fine, and I would say it’s a gentle fresh noble aquatic with a honeydew note, which immediately appealed to me. EAU MEGA stands out from the current fragrance monotony and the summer scents, as EAU MEGA definitely does not belong to that category! However, it’s perfect for summer.

But the message with "superhero" and "modern muse and mega-world" is really pulled by the proverbial hair, a very tortured story, the bottle, the packaging... my God, Viktor and Rolf, my dears, I love your Flowerbombs to bits and I think the EAU MEGA scent is great, but please "hoe zijn jullie in godsnaam op die idee gekomen, en wat hebben jullie daarbij gedacht?". I wrote that in Dutch, as Viktor and Rolf occasionally read here ;).

The bottle constantly threatens to fall over and reminds me of a children's toy, like baby’s first phone or baby’s first clock, everything oversized, the function buttons huge, so that baby knows where to press. With EAU MEGA, however, I really had to think about where I needed to press, and it really can’t get any more awkward than this, and then there’s this mirror gold everywhere... the bottle has already earned the name "Goldständer" with me.

But I didn’t let that discourage me and have now found a new summer fragrance, and in this case, it didn’t even cost anything.

@Hermi: I don’t know if EM has headache potential, as I already had a headache today and had taken two Thomapyrin Intensiv before spraying.

Summer Feeling
Today I tested Eau Mega by Viktor & Rolf and I must say, it was a really good idea! I was a bit grumpy because I spent the beautiful day with the wonderful summer weather tidying up our apartment, and Eau Mega immediately lifted my spirits. I found the top note to be very surprising, as it was quite cucumber-like (salad - not pickled cucumber, thankfully :+)) and refreshingly invigorating. After a while, I caught a whiff of the aquatic notes and the peony. Overall, a very nice soft summer fragrance. I can't detect any musk, but there is a hint of sandalwood, albeit faint. Eau Mega is not a scent for lovers of exclusively classic floral fragrances, in my opinion, but rather something for the more adventurous. I'm adding Eau Mega to my wish list! And please be lenient with me, this is my first comment, so I'm still practicing.

Eau Mega is truly mega and immediately wrapped me in its charm. Pear, shower gel, and fresh basil sprigs. So fresh.

Herb green-fresh, cucumber-fruity, delicately floral, long-lasting - I love this stuff so much that I even like the terrible bottle!
