Ruby peach
I always loved Flowerbomb, since the first time I smelled it back when it was new. The flankers can be hit or miss, some don't have the charms of the original at all. This one does. In the opening it smells like a mixture between the original and Flowerbomb Nectar. Completely with the signature patchouli, vanilla cookie-ish orchid, candied florals and transparent tea of the OG Flowerbomb and the licorice vibe of FB Nectar.
And then the peach rolls in. It's sooo juicy. Intense, but never dull, like a peach ice tea without the tea or a slightly diluted peach syrup. Maybe it's even closer to a ripe nectarine than a real peach, it misses the fuzzy texture of peach skin and has more of a glossy-smooth feel, if that makes sense to you. It's a bit similar to the fruit notes in the Bonbon line.
The fruitiness only comes out in the heart of the perfume and stays all through the drydown, blended into a milky caramelized vanilla and the sparkling, patchy Flowerbomb DNA. It's wonderfully gourmand.
Some may find this unoriginal, and I don't necessarily disagree, but sometimes it's that simple: I love Flowerbomb, I love peaches and nectarines, therefore I love this peachy Flowerbomb flanker. Do I need it? No, I have Flowerbomb Nectar and I also have Montale's Vanilla Extasy, which basically smells like Flowerbomb with apricots. But if I didn't, I would definitely consider FB Ruby Orchid.
