Great addition to the Spicebomb family

I have and enjoy Spicebomb Extreme. I tested the Spicebomb flankers Dark Leather and Infrared and wasn't impressed by them. I've never tried the OG. All that said, I'm pretty impressed with Metallic Musk. It retains certain aspects of Spicebomb Extreme making it clear that it belongs in the Spicebomb family. The one major note that is missing from Metallic Musk is vanilla which is very pronounced in Spicebomb Extreme. The peppery, spicy aspect is similar in both.

What Metallic Musk emphasizes once it settles a bit is, of course, musk. It isn't a clean, laundry scent but a slightly dirty musky scent. I'm assuming the dirty or darker aspect is provided by the ambrette and leather. Metallic Musk is perfect for a guy looking for a musky fragrance that includes the Spicebomb DNA. Metallic Musk strikes me as more versatile that Spicebomb Extreme since it's not as loud. It could easily be used everyday, for the office, etc.

Longevity was very good. I got a good 12 hours out of it. Applied in the morning, it lasted well into the evening. Projection was good, but not obnoxious, contributing to Metallic Musk's versatility. Metallic Musk is a great addition to the Spicebomb family.

Musky soapy interpretation of Spicebomb

It's interesting when a brand incorporates its clone back into a flanker of the OG. I also saw this happened recently with Le Gemme - Tygar Extrait de Parfum, which took some parts of Vibrato and L'Immensité and incorporated them back into Tygar, which inspired those two to begin with. And similarly here, Viktor & Rolf are incorporating the aromatic/soapy/creamy nature of Rehab, a fragrance inspired by the original Spicebomb, back into the Spicebomb line. And I think it is great. Sure, Rehab might be slightly higher quality, but you get a really nice musky aromatic scent in Metallic Musk which will probably be at a great price point in the next few months (already $70/50ml at Jomashop which isn't bad, especially considering the price Rehab goes for). I just can't get over the childish bottle. Honestly, if this fragrance came in Rehab's bottle I'd pick it up right now for $70.

Fantastic!

If you, like me, love the OG, but live in a hotter climate and thus had to wait till it cooled down to wear the OG? Our prayers have been answered with a fresher, smoother blended take with way better longevity. nnIt’s so good, having the OG and this is doesn’t make sense, just buy “Metallic”. As SB Metallic Musk still has enough depth to rock it in cooler weather. This is a leatherman/Gerber SpiceBomb for sure.

CLEAN MEETS SPICY

The name might say “metallic,” but the scent is anything but. It is warm, creamy, and enveloping, more like a silky bar of Dove soap blended with the original Spicebomb DNA.

It opens with modern soapy aldehydes wrapped in pillowy soft musk, but you can still clearly catch the original Spicebomb DNA underneath. As it develops, the creaminess slowly fades, and by the five to six hour mark you are left with a woody, spicy drydown that feels deep and comforting.

This version leans heavily on black pepper and pimento, so if you love that fiery bite, you are in luck. Cinnamon is present too, making the contrast between the clean, creamy soapiness and the hot spices even more striking. Clean, but still spicy.

Longevity and projection are solid, and the overall vibe is classy, wearable, and versatile. It is polished enough for everyday use but still has that little extra spark that keeps it interesting. And the silver bottle? Cute! I like the color.

One of my favorite Spicebomb flankers.

Forever A Hidden Gem

This is a wonderful designer that will forever fly under the radar

It basically spicebomb extreme but more versatile. Since its a musk scent it explodes in the humid heat and shrinks back to a skin when you get back inside AC or the cold

It has a freshness & musk that works for hotter days, and has the same smell & cinnamon from extreme that works well in the cold. Not overbearing, very versatile
