A little mystery...
Hello everyone,
today I would like to say something about Iris Blanc: Tigerwood and why it completely caught me off guard...!
When I read about its release, my excitement and expectations were very high, as I am a confessed fan of both scents and a certain "crossover" = why not.
I had already imagined how I would have done it....
But then I read here green incense, rice...
That reminded me of pre-Corona Ensar Oud!
What do I mean by that exactly?
Before 2020, Ensar Oud liked to use these notes/this accord and created something dry and smoky! This accord here... - sounded exciting.
Now to the test:
The Iris Blanc: Tigerwood has little to do with Iris Blanc and Tigerwood Pure Parfum in the sense that they are completely separate and different fragrances, and Iris Blanc: Tigerwood is NOT a fusion, but a completely independent scent.
The Iris Blanc: Tigerwood starts, as I said, dry - smoky (not sacred = as one knows fragrances from EO in the past). You can also sense a bit of neroli and tea, which in combination with the neroli creates a somewhat bitter note. The cypress and cedar are present, but only slightly noticeable as background notes. This phase lasts quite a long time. Every now and then, peaks or moments of Iris Blanc come through, but they do not remain permanently. These are also not as clean and carefree as from Iris Blanc, but rather altered by the quite present soft incense and probably the portion of amber. Not unpleasant or dirty = just different. Hence my statement of being independent.
Towards the end, you notice a certain increasing woodiness, which also brings something dark with it..., but it could also have been a very high-quality dark and slightly smoky guaiac wood (I am a fan of this note among others).
I find the pure longevity really decent (very good) with roughly 10 hours and sometimes even a bit more. The sillage is, in my opinion, let's say improvable. The first 2 hours are really okay to good and especially at the beginning relatively typical for EO fragrances, very present. But after 2h - 3h, the scent noticeably retreats and becomes more of a pure "enjoyer scent" (bubble around 1m). There are moments and days when you want/like exactly that. I am fully aware of all this - I just wanted to mention it!
Can I recommend it - yep!
(A test as a sample is fine)
When and where?
Properly dosed actually always!
(Not too strong, not too weak, not disturbing!)
Price....
A tiresome topic... let's leave it - it's better that way^^
So I hadn't expected it like this, but it's also nice to be surprised...!
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
