A great Chypre at an affordable price.
Since no one has yet written a comment about this great fragrance, I will do so now, so that interested perfume lovers have a bit more guidance :)
I was looking for an alternative to Diaghilev from the good Roja. Because, although I am quite adventurous, nearly €1,000 for a blind buy is a bit much for me :D
And as is often the case, DUA Fragrances offers an allegedly authentic clone at a much more affordable price, so I dared the blind buy from a nice fellow perfume lover :)
The scent starts off very fruity and typically chypre (is that a word?). Lemon and lime come through nicely, I think. Only in the background is the tarragon, which gives a slightly greenish touch.
After about an hour, you reach the heart note. Fruits on some flowers and a bit of spices.
I usually find it very difficult to pick out individual notes in chypres, and it is the same here. But that’s not what matters to me at all. I care about the interplay of the individual components. And that is top-notch!
You can say that the longer the fragrance unfolds, the more bitter it becomes.
Because only after about 3/4 of an hour do you reach the dry-down. And that is, in my opinion, what can really impress here!
Amber, vanilla, all kinds of woods, musk, and leathery resins create a bitter, masculine, and slightly sweet dream scent!
Thus, the fragrance lasts a long time, until it is close to the skin after about 11 hours.
In conclusion, I must say that I find this fragrance very pleasant and beautiful to wear! So much so that I might take a look at the real Diaghilev... but for now, just a few ml :D
Should that happen, I will try to add a comparison to the comment.
