Against cardboard mouths, only cola helps
Uncommented scent - wait a minute, wrong movie! The right movie: it's late 2022 and Scholz is about to legalize Bubatz. In front of me stands Dua's Cannabliss with the Mobster. Wild times.
This fragrance came to me unexpectedly. For some time, I had been fascinated by Nasomatto Black Afgano, but not enough to justify the price. By pure chance, I don't even remember how, I stumbled upon Cannabliss with the Mobster (thanks to Caligari!) as a potential alternative.
First, about the bottle: quite nice, on the hefty side. Simple label. The sprayer dispenses sparingly, but it stays sealed.
The opening of the fragrance is a burying cola. Less Coca-Cola, more cola candy, but not really sweet. Perhaps cola without carbonation fits as well. The already mentioned organic cola also captures it well. There’s still no trace of the Kush here. The projection during this time is very strong, and the cola note is quite overwhelming for sensitive noses.
But this phase doesn’t last long. After just a few minutes, the Mary Jane makes an appearance and the scent becomes noticeably darker. Here, the similarities with Black Afgano and its mysteriously dark zoo become clearer.
The tobacco is very shy. A slightly sweet tobacco can be sensed, but nothing more. It takes almost an hour for it to dare to step more into the spotlight. But that’s a good thing; overly sweet tobacco would not have contributed positively, as cola and fox are already too strong on their own. In this respect, I find the tobacco note well integrated here.
Whiskey? During production, at most one bottle fell over. If someone drinks whiskey that tastes like this, they have my sincere condolences. Even after several hours, whiskey cannot be found. If one really wants, they can sniff out something similar to rum, but for me, that’s more the tobacco.
As soon as Cannabliss starts to weaken, it also becomes more bitter. The cola accord never completely disappears, but the similarities with Black Afgano become stronger and stronger.
While Black Afgano is the Satanist dressed in black in the woods, Cannabliss is the (obligatory) mobster sitting in a club with live music and smoking a rabbit. Cannabliss is the good cop, Black Afgano is the bad cop.
Ultimately, I wish for more Loudpak and less cola. Even though it is, objectively speaking, quite an interesting combination, subjectively it’s just too much of a good thing for me.
