Best Dua Fragrance I've Smelled.
Dua raised the bar with Ottoman Drowned in Vanilla. I have nine Dua Fragrances in my collection and this has to be the best I've smelled so far. Starts out with that Vanilla/Pineapple blast. I've never smelled Hacivat or Ani, but I love this. Can't stop smelling myself. Got a compliment at work the first day I wore it. It's close to being a Masterpiece, IMO. I think the price per ML keeps me from calling it a Masterpiece. If you got more juice for your money, then it would be perfect. I give it a 9/10 rating.

So, who wins the battle for vanilla now?
"Ladies and gentlemaaaaaan...."

The famous words before the fight.
I imagine Michael Buffer, dressed in oak moss tuxedo (an unintentional, smoky pun), standing in the center of the ring.
In the left corner, a juicy, slightly synthetic pineapple...
In the right corner, a young, fresh ginger...
Both eager to win the contested vanilla trophy for themselves.

Where a regular boxing match ends after 12 rounds, the pineapple and ginger continue to fight spiritedly, each occasionally landing a half-glove on the vanilla trophy, which sits on a high pedestal next to the ring, visible to all.

In fact, I can't definitively determine who ultimately wins the fight.
Michael Buffer is also undecided but stays close to the ring throughout the match to not miss anything.

In my opinion, a super pleasant hybrid of two already great fragrances.
Thank you, Dua, for allowing me not to choose between them, but to get "the best of both worlds."
For the sake of completeness:
Longevity and sillage are, as usual with Dua, beyond any doubt.
The bottle is... well, after all, it's about the inner values.

Smoky Depth and Artificial Freshness
"Ottoman Drowned in Vanilla" by Dua Brands is an unusual fragrance that sets itself apart from most other scents on the market. The top notes of bergamot and mandarin are fresh and refreshing, while the smoky heart note gives the fragrance a darker, mysterious quality. The base notes of vanilla, tonka, and musk provide the perfume with a warm, sensual depth.

The smoky note is what truly distinguishes this fragrance from others. It is an unexpected and interesting component that adds a certain depth and darkness to the perfume. However, it is important to note that this note is very prominent and may not suit everyone's taste. The smoky note can sometimes be a bit too strong and overwhelm the other components of the fragrance.

The synthetic pineapple note in this scent is also very noticeable and may come across as somewhat artificial or overpowering to some noses. It is an interesting and unexpected note, but it can throw the composition of the perfume out of balance. It is important to use the perfume sparingly and to be aware of how it interacts with one's own skin and body odor.

The longevity and sillage of this fragrance are impressive. One or two spritzes are enough to keep the scent on the skin all day long. It is a fragrance that is ideal for special occasions where a memorable and unique scent is desired. However, it may not be suitable for everyday wear, as the smoky note and synthetic pineapple note can be too strong for some people.

Overall, "Ottoman Drowned in Vanilla" by Dua Brands is a fascinating and unique fragrance that offers an interesting combination of aromas. The smoky note is an unexpected component that adds a certain depth and darkness to the scent, while the synthetic pineapple note provides an unexpected freshness. However, it is a fragrance that, due to its complexity and the smoky note, may not be suitable for everyone.

The Year 1500
The year 1500...
The Ottoman Empire at its peak.

After a small spray on my wrist, this fragrance catapulted me back to the year 1500 in the Ottoman Empire... (now known as “Turkey”)
I wake up and walk into the garden in my armor, smelling fresh and citrusy notes. When I saw my beautiful wife, I made my way to her to give her a kiss on her forehead and inhaled her sweet-scented garment. She brought us original coffee, and we drank it in the garden. Both the freshness, the citrus, and the sweet nuances alternated in my nose, and I liked it very much. After a spacious time, I left this garden and made my way to the city.
"I need new leather shoes," I thought to myself, and went to the shoemaker.
“Salam!” I said, “Oh kind sir, I would need new leather shoes, do you have anything in stock?”
“Alaykum Salam,” said the shoemaker.
“Of course, I have something here! This leather just arrived fresh this morning, take a closer look if you want.”
I took a few steps to his workbench where the leather lay and examined it more closely; the fresh leather scent immediately filled my nose, but that was not all!
In the background, the shoemaker had made a fire to sterilize his tools and prepare them for the next use.
The two components of the leather and the fire fused together on a perfect level, so that neither of the two scent DNAs polarized too strongly.
“THIS IS IT!” I said to the shoemaker, and bought myself a pair of shoes made from this leather.
I put on my brand new shoes and went home, immediately making a fire. Before the fire unfolded, I enjoyed the fresh, citrusy, and simultaneously sweet scent of my garden...
Until finally, my fire smelled like a real fire, in this harmony, the scent of my leather shoes perfectly emerged.

After half a day, I returned to the year 2022, but I enjoyed my journey and can go back anytime I want.

Individually, they are already my favorites, but together they can become a great love. Fresh vanilla, with Ani dominating the base!

I was skeptical, but it's GREAT! Drowning base DNA is there. But Ottoman winks from the corner. Well done. Awesome idea. Duapower.

Two scoops of vanilla ice cream with pineapple toppings. Meanwhile, I'm smoking a Cohiba from Cuba. The cloud is very thick and voluminous.

In the opening, this DUA smells exactly like Solero ice cream from childhood

Great Hacivat with vanilla around it. It completely captured me. You could even wear it in spring and summer :-)

90% Hacivat. Ani lingers lightly in the background. Wearable not just in winter. HS are atypically very good.

Vanilla is dry, charred pineapple ginger blend, warm amber sea in the background. The Ani-Hacivat mix works wonderfully!

Honestly, I find the scent terrible - way too overpowering. It feels like all the notes were just thrown into a pot.

Initially very vanilla, over time a lovely synthetic-sweet pineapple and hardly smoky. The spray head delivers more stream than spray.
