This color has been my obsession since I encountered Le Feu d'Issey and ever since I've been searching for scents that embody a dark, almost maroon fiery red that runs hot and cold.

No sugary sweets here, please! No Rouge Smoking Eau de Parfum , no Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum , no Scarlet Poppy types here, please. I like those, too, but there's a time and place for everything, and here is not the time & place for those.

Looking forward to exploring your suggestions!

i could suggest III-IV Tango maybe, after looking at your collection. Further hint on what are you precisely searching would help

Just perfumes that evoke that mood and color scheme. Without sweetness.

When I think of the color red, I think of a velvet dark-red rose and of Nahema Eau de Parfum It is very much ROSE, so don't know if you like that note to be prominent, but it is also intriguing.

Chypre rouge

Weird, medicinal, red pine resin.

When i think "fiery red" i think about my frst love from Liquides Imaginaires : Île Pourpre, pourpre being the color in between red and purple that emperors used to wear as the pigments from the dye were horribly expensive. (And île means island)

It's a jammy-spicy fig laid on woods, to my nose, that is bold and conforting at the same time, and in my opinion quite addictive and would fit maybe your description, i actually never got the opportunity to smell Le Feu d'Issey , but maybe one day !

This Purple Island sounds intriguing. I'm putting it on my Watch List. From every dupe of Le Feu d'Issey I have tried, Gold Heart V.4 comes closest. Still no cigar, but it captures the idea of the mid and drydown stages.

Color me intrigued.😀 I generally associate resins with the color scheme amber, but anything from Oncle Serge is a must for sampling. Is it still in production?

I genuinely don't know. Haven't seen it around in ages, but haven't looked for it either.

Finding Serge Lutens in a local parfumerie and specifically this weird one is what set me off on a discovery of niche ages ago.
