For people who love wearing gourmand and heavy floral fragrances in 40°C heat
The initial cloud smells like a mix of creamy feminine shower gel and cheap sunscreen. Mostly sunscreen. Synthetic florals and citruses, prominent coconut background. A huge cloud that quickly envelops the room. Cloying, aggressive – when trying to breathe, it immediately gets in your mouth.
Credit where it's due – while it's not a pleasant experience, it's definitely a very realistic rendition of what it feels like to be walking along the beach in the summer. It's scorching hot, coarse and unpleasantly wet at the same time, chafing and overwhelming. The sun chews through the rancid sunscreen and painfully bites right into your skin as you struggle to breathe, and yet the tourist women passing you by somehow don't seem to mind it at all – each one wearing a different heavy floral perfume on top of everything else.
In about ~10 minutes an already loud cacophony is joined by the heavy benzoin scent seeping in from below. As if it wasn't sweet enough already. Well, that definitely does bring up childhood memories... Not the good ones. I spend the first ~3 hours stuck in my personal summertime hell.
And I am rather bitter about it, but hey, wasn't I promised a Beach Walk? And I definitely got one. In that particular sense, this is the best Replica out of 10 in my Discovery Set, lol.
It gets softer and settles close to the skin after the first ~3 hours. It's warm, musky, still faintly coconutty, a wee bit aquatic and almost lovable at that point. Has a certain depth to it. It dries down to just vanilla and musk in another ~1,5 hours, and in ~1,5 hours more fades away to a faint nondescript aftertaste.
This second part is neat! But it also feels like a reconciliation phase of an abusive relationship. You won't fool me, Beach Walk. I know what will happen if I give you another go. I'm not wearing you ever again.
