Mancera really has a great range that is huge and has something for everyone. This brand is simply a pleasing niche and covers many themes. The quality also moves nicely between designer and niche, offering a fair price. Those who like to oscillate between niche and designers will find Mancera to be a good choice. I tested this Cosmic Pepper for the first time last year. It's not really mind-blowing, as this DNA is already quite popular. This fragrance leans very much towards
Allure Homme Sport Eau de Toilette or
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême with its soft freshness. It's not a 1:1 dupe, but rather inspired by this style, and those who like this Chanel can test this one well. The Cosmic Pepper has many unique notes that seem interesting and pleasing. You get a fragrance that simply presents a great freshness and contains a wonderful sensual aura. Even though it is not rated exceptionally here, this scent is worth it if you're looking for a no-brainer in the direction of Allure Homme Sport.
Price-wise, it might be a bit overpriced, so one should wait for or pay attention to offers. 60ml costs around €100, 120ml around €150. It's not excessively overpriced for what you get, but a few € less wouldn't hurt.
The fragrance comes in the usual packaging. It's a simple cardboard box and the typical Mancera pouch, just like Montale does. The bottle is high-quality with great glass and a cool magnetic cap.
The name of the fragrance is not very descriptive. A wonderful peppery spice is indeed present, but not in the leading role. You get a great fresh no-brainer a la Chanel. The opening consists of a lot of citrus. Here, you get a lovely creamy-juicy mandarin with a big splash of lemon, similar to Chanel. There's also a lot of fresh sage, which provides an interesting freshness and harmonizes with this citrus. On top of that, there’s a wonderful peppery spice that is quite pleasant. Overall, a very harmonious combination. In the heart note, a fresh rose is added, giving this fragrance an independent vibe. The scent becomes quite soft after hour 2 and has a very sensual yet fresh aura. In the base, like in Chanel, there's a large portion of musk and tonka bean for sweetness. A sensual-sweet-clean base that the masses will likely enjoy. For many in the perfume community, it might be too trivial, but Cosmic Pepper is a scent that will work in everyday life. I do not perceive the oud note in the heart. This creation is already very European with not many edges and corners. A no-brainer that, while unisex, will appeal more to men due to its similarity to Chanel. However, this fragrance is not too masculine. A slight synthetic note lingers, but it remains within limits and is far from unpleasant.
Performance is quite good. Compared to its "model," it lasts about the same, around 8-9 hours of longevity and has a solid sillage. The opening is quite good, becoming a bit closer to the skin after 3-4 hours. But it's already a good performer when it comes to freshness. It can be worn anytime. Wearable year-round and suitable for any occasion.
Overall, a great no-brainer with a peppery-citrusy-fresh top note, fresh rose, and a wonderful base of musk and tonka. Everything is very rounded and pleasing. Recommendation goes out to all fans of the Allure Homme Sport line.
