Yellow Breeze
In my recent adventure to find a fragrance for summer that is long-lasting, fresh, green and fruity, the brand 'Mancera' offered me 'Melody of the sun'.
At first I wasn't hugely enthusiastic about this find, but after a relatively short while I changed my mind.

After applying the fragrance, we are given a small dose of citrus. Small because almost the entire fragrance from start to finish is taken over by a delicious pear. It aggressively washes the rest of the head notes off the map, leaving echoes of grapefruit and lavender in the background. The pear used is delicately sweet and smooth. What sets it apart from the others is the very tart coating. Juicy, freshly picked from the tree and washed rests in a linen basket ready to be enjoyed. It really is a pleasant feeling.

After lingering on the skin the scent gets very tea-like and green which I really enjoy. The green tea combined with sweet matcha, osmanthus, musk and amber, deliciously complete the whole fragrance. The sweetness is very balanced but absolutely not pushy. Bear in mind that I don't have a candy type sweetness in mind, but a twiggy pear tree type and a gentle whiff of a summer garden filled with ripe fruits.

The whole thing is a citrusy, aromatic and sweet fragrance for summer evenings. Created for people in love with the simple beauty of nature. The fragrance is definitely longer lasting thanks to its 'warmer' base. It lays on the skin in a very pleasant and smooth way, making you feel that gentle summer breeze on your skin. I am very happy with the choice that was made for my purchase and I more than confident to recommend it to both ladies and gentlemen ;)

If the sun could be heard, which melody would it give us?
If the sun could be heard, which melody would it give us?
A joyful, warm, bright melody.
What if this melody was meant to represent the first, shy rays of dawn?
I really liked Mancera's interpretation of it: citrus notes, made juicy by fruity notes and yes, “guilty” of a feeling of well-being, of a warm smile, with touching notes of lavender and green tea.
A light, fresh, and timid fragrance, like those rays that come out and slowly warm our hearts.

Skin chemistry is funny...
... because apparently this fragrance is very citrusy and fresh for the majority of testers. For me, on the other hand, where the majority of citrusy fragrances tend to go in the direction of "sweet effervescent tablet meats toilet stone", the citrus is virtually non-existent, I can't recognize the "fruity" as a note and the fragrance very quickly becomes white-floral-green-creamy with tea + woody notes. Which is absolutely not a point of criticism! On the contrary.

At the very beginning, I imagine a hint of grapefruit, but it could also be ginger. And then my skin practically skips straight to the heart note with wonderfully soft jasmine paired with the ever-present woody counter-component. Plus a light teen note. Lovely!

At the same time, I think hard about where the whole thing sounds so familiar to me ... and then I remember my last "I'm happily developing in a completely different way to everyone else here" candidate: Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum (also zero lemon for me). The Mancera is basically Chanel plus tea. Armani Privé - Thé Yulong has also been mentioned here as similar and yep, it fits - although it has even more tea in my case... in ascending "tea-ness": Chanel-Mancera-Armani.

I also don't know why everyone always complains about the shelf life. Apart from Wūlóng Chá Extrait de Parfum, I'm not aware of any delicate green tea fragrance that lasts for an infinitely long time, but at a corresponding price - how is that supposed to work? I don't want my surroundings to choke on it, but I would still like to smell it after 6 hours without being close to my body? The egg-laying wool-milk sow sends its regards... especially in summer and generally in warmer temperatures, nobody wants to have such a monster around, as a wearer I would be annoyed by it myself.

The teal-green snoot can definitely continue to rise and move in with me.

Fresh, sunny energy
I can't always handle citrusy-fresh fragrances. They are often too pungent for me. I've also rarely had any luck with tea notes, even though I really like tea. Melody of the Sun - what a beautiful and apt name, by the way - is a different story.

Melody of the Sun starts off wonderfully citrusy and fresh and exudes a good mood and energy. It has some acidity from the grapefruit and is also slightly tart. The fruity notes give it a little sweetness, but it remains light.

I perceive the fragrance's progression as rather linear. The citrus remains, becomes a little softer and I think I can now smell more green tea and mate. I also don't perceive it as very synthetic. But it lasts quite well on me for a freshie - if that's what synthetics are for, that's fine by me.

I've been wearing Melody of the Sun for the second summer now. Whether in the office, in my free time or on vacation. It lifts my mood, makes me feel fresh and well-groomed and is never too much.

What a beautiful, sunny and citrusy tea fragrance!

Melody of the Sun....with low volume
About the packaging / bottle

The perfume is packed in a bag, just like the Montale fragrances, I personally find very elegant.
The bottle is wonderfully pretty and classy. The processing also TOP!
The cap of the perfume is magnetic and the sprayer does its job fabulously.

Now to the fragrance

With me comes a fresh-sweet-citrus scent first, which lasts a few moments.
The beginning comes across well but the fragrance fades very quickly.

Within a few minutes, I notice a soft and quiet creamy smell when I smell my perfumed skin.

The sillage is very weak and the durability I also find not so good.

For the office or work, or for places and places where you do not want to smell too strong after a perfume or if you have the opportunity every 2 hours einzuparfümieren so that the smell lasts, then the fragrance is optimal.

For me personally, however, this is nothing.

Unfortunately Mancera :(

It pretty much is Montale Soleil de Capri in a Mancera bottle. Fruity floral, similar to light blue for women. Scent okay, originality meh.
