Review - Blue by Ajmal
Blu by Ajmal is a fresh aquatic scent that incorporates top notes of watermelon, saline, bergamot, and lavender. It’s a complex and somewhat fruity fragrance. The heart is made of of jasmine and lotus where the lavender is more pronounced. Its basenotes are amber, musk, and sandalwood. Overall, it’s a good male fragrance for going out anytime.

Sleek Bottle, Muddled Scent: A Disappointment
I really wanted to love this fragrance. It ticks all the right boxes: the bottle is undeniably cool, sleek, and perfectly travel-friendly. Plus, the advertised scent profile is right up my alley. However, something just feels off. The ozonic note, which should be light and airy, comes across as overwhelmingly bleachy and dense. Instead of a refreshing experience, it becomes foggy and headache-inducing. It's not a terrible fragrance, but the ozonic element needs some serious tweaking to unlock its true potential.

Towering Blue
I don’t prefer fragrances such as Rasasi, Armaf, Lattafa, and Ajmal, because I know very well that they are artificial scents that contain many chemicals, but every rule has an exception.

The exception here is Blu Ajmal, very summery and refreshing, the scent of watermelon is absolutely stunning, the best from UAE fragrance houses that rely on inspiration, imitation, and copying of famous fragrances in making their fragrances and sell them at a cheap price to achieve spread at the expense of quality.

This fragrance is elegant and the bottle is long with stunning blue color and stands alone defying the summer heat.

I don't care about the performance here or anything like that, what matters to me is the scent, and the scent of this fragrance is charming, with a personality and not inspired by another fragrance, in short.

The Gift Vol. 2
And once again, despite my warnings that I have so many fragrances and really don't want any new ones (at least not without first finding out my preferences), I received a fragrance for my birthday. This time, however, I wasn't as anxious, as I had never heard of the brand before. It certainly didn't seem like something you would normally find in a drugstore. Additionally, the company appears to be from the Emirates, which piqued my interest even more.

The presentation is very simple, yet somewhat chic. The package I received contains a deodorant, an Eau de Cologne, and an Eau de Parfum. However, they all basically smell the same (perhaps the deodorant is a tad more synthetic than the other fragrances). But how does it smell? If you were to research on Fragrantica, you would stumble upon comparisons like Allure Blanche, Bleu de Chanel, Fierce, and even Costa Azzurra. However, I honestly consider all of that nonsense.

The scent progression is simple. Upon spraying, the first thing you notice is the bergamot. Lavender, if present, is more in the background. I might be able to recognize the watermelon, even though it comes across a bit synthetic. The fragrance starts off very fruity fresh and slowly transitions into a slightly floral direction (probably due to the heart notes). For me, the scent also has a slightly aquatic vibe, but I would describe it much more as sweetly fresh. The light blue packaging definitely matches the fragrance very well. Towards the end, the scent becomes warmer, as the discreet mix of sandalwood, musk, and amber allows it to fade away very pleasantly. I find it hard to describe, but the transition to my own skin scent is very smooth and almost unnoticeable.

Now, the fragrance is certainly not a revelation. But it is by no means bad. Personally, I quite like it, as it is really uncomplicated and especially a safe choice in temperatures over 30°C. I find the decision to put an EdC and an EdP in the same box very strange, but also practical, as I spray the EdC on my clothes and use the EdP on myself.

Longevity and sillage are quite weak with the EdC. However, the EdP lasts reasonably long for such a light summer scent and is well noticeable. I still find it very suitable for summer, as it is not too overpowering and the sweetness is never excessive. I see the fragrance for daytime use, regardless of whether it's school, work, sports, or active days outdoors. This is one of those fragrances that "always works".

Regarding fragrance twins: As mentioned, there are the wildest comparisons on Fragrantica. One user wrote that the fragrance has a certain familiarity. It could never be seen as a dupe for BdC or Fierce or the others, but it really does share something of the base that these fragrances have. Shower gel? Perhaps. But very fresh, clean, and pleasantly sweet. Interestingly, the fragrance occasionally reminds me of "Ice Dive (Eau de Toilette)" by Adidas. However, I must also say that I last tested Ice Dive about 10 years ago and I could be completely wrong. But if my memories serve me right, Ajmal Blu sometimes reminds me of a less synthetic, but warmer and more refined version of Ice Dive.

Not a masterpiece, for me it actually has zero oriental character, but still a solid fragrance that I will enjoy wearing in the summer. This time, the gift worked out!

For a citrus-fresh, relentlessly optimistic, sporty shower gel, it's not bad at first. It becomes artificial and weakens quickly.

Starts off slightly sharp and synthetic-dull. But it gets better over time. Watery-soapy, blue shower gel freshness. It's okay.

With bergamot and lavender, along with a strong synthetic-aquatic note, Blu reminds me of some sporty fragrances from the 90s. I like it.

Much better watermelon than Givenchy Ultramarine, which is very harshly synthetic.
Fruity lavender opening with a woody base. TOP!

Clear resemblance to Fierce, but also smokier, woodier, yet with good projection and quality.
