Underwater with Ylang-Ylang
Hello, my sniffing creatures (should I really call you creatures? On the other hand, if I call you cats, you probably won't mind, so why not sniffing creatures? :D)!
Welcome, anyway, to my commentary on Bora-Bora by Berdoues, a brand that I often affectionately refer to as "The Elephant Brand" because I love their bottle for "Assam of India," which features colorful elephants :)
Today, as mentioned, it's about the fragrance Bora-Bora, which briefly reminds me of the war film Tora Tora Tora, but the scent has nothing to do with war, even though the film is also set in the Pacific. Bora-Bora is a French island (or rather an atoll) and is a popular vacation destination, where one mainly takes excursions on glass-bottom boats because the underwater life is said to be beautiful. Generally, the place is very interesting for divers with its so-called Ray Alley, where you can see numerous rays of various kinds.
Of course, you can also see sharks there and probably even encounter them directly... maybe one shouldn't have watched Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" recently if planning a vacation there! (Man, I feel old; younger people probably don't even know the film "Jaws"... well, just replace that film with the Sharknado series, which is incredibly bad but offers numerous hot bikini babes, which is the only reason I've seen one or two of those films or at least the bikini scenes... he he :DD).
So... shortly after, I find that it definitely smells like ylang-ylang or similarly sultry-heavy flowers. The scent is thus quite heavy and for me not fresh at all, but much more autumnal. I can no longer smell coconut, and neroli is only a bit in the background.
A little later, I can really only smell ylang-ylang. And even later, still ylang, phew... and that doesn't change anymore. Somehow, I really only smell ylang or sultry-heavy flowers here. I find that very unfortunate, as I don't like the scent at all, and I had expected a fresh summer fragrance from the design of the bottle...
But for me, this scent with the ylang-ylang (or whatever it is) is quite heavy, rather suffocating, and could be deadly in summer, which is why I would definitely categorize it for autumn and winter. Additionally, it is very feminine and not unisex.
Of course, the scent might appeal to anyone who likes such notes, but I just don't like it, and I found it disappointing because I really expected something different. Well... it is usable... I don't know, maybe if you're going out to eat or something? It comes across as an evening scent, but for me, it's not a going-out scent, rather more like... a deterrent, he he.
Otherwise, yes, excuse my slip-ups for mentioning hot bikini babes again, but if I ever do have a girlfriend, I will surely write fewer bikini, uh, "babe"-focused comments, I promise! :D
On the other hand, the chances for that are as always seeeeeeevery low, so I will probably always mention such things here, mu ha ha ha aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghrghrghrghrgh :DDD he he
Well,... I'm going to wash my arm now. I've had it on for about eight hours, and I'm pretty sure the scent isn't changing anymore, ugh, this ylang scent is really brutal, man...
So then, have a nice evening and see you next time :)

The Scent:
The scent starts with orange blossoms and the peels of citrus fruits, especially oranges. The orange blossoms are quite heavy here and seem a bit floral to me, almost even a bit like ylang-ylang, so also slightly sultry. This is probably due to the combination with coconut, which makes the scent feel heavier and occasionally even a bit stuffy. So... shortly after, I find that it definitely smells like ylang-ylang or similarly sultry-heavy flowers. The scent is thus quite heavy and for me not fresh at all, but much more autumnal. The Sillage and Longevity:
The intensity is quite okay, as it comes across as heavier, so it radiates accordingly and is good to smell for a while. The longevity is pretty good; it lasts over eight hours. The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular but has rounded edges. Like most Berdoues bottles, this one also has a painted (or printed) inner wall, which looks very nice. Here you can see a stilted hut by the sea on the atoll, right on Bora-Bora. Everything looks very chic. Conclusion:
Phew, no... no, no, THIS is not how I imagine a fragrance that should remind me of fresh and exotic summer scents based on its appearance and the listed notes. Sure, the sultry flowers are exotic and remind of hot and humid rainforests :D But for me, this scent with the ylang-ylang (or whatever it is) is quite heavy, rather suffocating, and could be deadly in summer, which is why I would definitely categorize it for autumn and winter. Additionally, it is very feminine and not unisex.
