Conquer The Dark
The fifth and thus last fragrance I tested from the exclusive Perfume Bay Collection is Conquer. Its black bottle symbolizes mental strength and victory, but above all, it represents the black gold, oil.
The scent opens directly with one of the most beautiful oriental combinations of saffron and myrrh. Warm and spicy, they set the theme of the fragrance. This olfactory theme is very dominant during the first hours and only slowly allows the nose to discover other nuances in the scent.
Honey and suede then find their way into the light from the third hour onward, allowing the oriental notes to truly sparkle once again. Fortunately, the fragrance does not become harsh or overly sweet. It simply takes on a slightly erotic, sensual direction that suits it very well.
At the same time, it remains very relaxed yet confident. Not only for me but also for those around me, the fragrance is always very noticeable. It stands out very positively.
In the later stages, around 7 to 8 hours in, the fragrance gradually pulls back in its sillage and opens up to beautiful woody notes that accompany us throughout the entire dry down.
Conquer is a spicy oriental with a hint of animalistic sensuality, which, like all other fragrances in the collection, is perfectly wearable and offers all-day longevity. Those who enjoy scents like Ambre Orient will also find great joy here.
For me, it is the darkest fragrance in the Perfume Bay Collection and truly deserves its black bottle.
