A perfect replacement perfume for those disappointed with Dior Homme Parfum.
I used to buy Dior Homme Intense (2011) and Dior Homme Parfum (2014) for years and years until I noticed that the longevity of the perfume and the sillage were getting weaker and weaker.

It got to the point where I simply stopped buying these two perfumes and even sold the ones I had.

The search for an Iris perfume to replace them was simply difficult, I did find other great perfumes, but the only one that was really very similar and even better and of higher quality was Harmonious by a wide margin.

This is such an elegant, masculine and sexy perfume with nuances of cognac and rum.

I'm waiting for winter just to wear it.

I promise you that this is the ultimate replacement for Dior Homme perfume.

For me, just because Dior Homme Intense and Perfume were the first perfumes that introduced me to this world, this is a perfect and exciting perfume for me.

9.5/10.

Dior Homme Refined To Perfection
Harmonious by Boadicea the Victorious is one of those rare fragrances that feels like an evolution of something I've loved for years. It takes the iris-heavy character I admired in Dior Homme Parfum and deepens it with a level of sophistication and complexity that makes it stand apart. From the first spray, there’s an instant sense of warmth and luxury. The fragrance opens with a creamy, almost velvety texture, thanks to the ambrette, which is beautifully softened by the richness of rum and cognac. This doesn’t come off as overly sweet; it’s more about balance, with just the right touch of cardamom adding a subtle, spicy vibrancy to keep things fresh without overwhelming the senses.

As the fragrance evolves, the heart begins to unfold. The powdery orris root takes center stage, giving the fragrance a familiar, earthy softness reminiscent of Dior Homme Parfum. But what truly elevates Harmonious is the May rose, which infuses a delicate, airy sweetness that softens the powderiness and makes it feel more rounded. The cashmere wood adds a velvety smoothness, like a soft, comforting hug, while coriander adds a faint, enlivening spice, but never enough to overshadow the other notes.

The drydown is where Harmonious really shines. It doesn’t rush to get there but unfolds gradually, becoming warmer and richer as time passes. The vanilla and musk provide a soft, powdery sweetness that’s beautifully balanced by amber’s resinous warmth, giving it a comforting glow. There’s still a hint of leather and vetiver that nods to the Dior Homme Parfum base, but here it feels much more refined, smoother, and less dry. The sandalwood makes an appearance, adding a creamy, almost silky texture that ties everything together and gives it a luxurious finish.

The performance is impressive too. The longevity is excellent, lasting well into the day, and the projection in the first few hours is just right not overpowering, but enough to make an impact. What truly sets this fragrance apart is how it evolves. It never stays static; it continues to offer new layers of complexity while maintaining a harmonious balance.

For anyone who loves Dior Homme Parfum but feels like something was missing, Harmonious fills that gap. It takes everything that made the Dior fragrance iconic and adds an extra layer of refinement and richness. For me, it’s the fragrance I didn’t know I was waiting for elegant, sophisticated, and beautifully rounded, with just the right amount of complexity to keep me coming back for more.

When the Elegance of Dior Homme Parfum Meets the Exoticism of Boadicea...
Harmonious is an often underestimated fragrance from Boadicea. Most people talk about Hanuman, Blue Sapphire Parfum, Bodacious, etc., but what specifically makes Harmonious so special for me?

Well, the scent is actually a well-known DNA from "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior", but with a special twist from Boadicea that I personally felt was missing in "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior". It is indeed powdery-leathery, but rather "dry" - a masterpiece, but something was lacking in the composition that I found in Harmonious.

Now, onto the fragrance:

- Right from the start, the scent captivates with a gentle hint of ambrette that envelops you in a creamy-light texture. Rum and cognac add a certain opulent sweetness to the fragrance. A light touch of cardamom provides a truly subtle spiciness, while saffron and cinnamon give it an oriental flair. It simply smells special, more rounded, and not so "dry".

- Then comes the strong association with "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior"; the iris root adds a powdery-light-earthy character, which is complemented by the velvety sweetness of the May rose, adding a slightly floral charm. The cashmere wood also makes the fragrance a bit softer, and additional spiciness from coriander subtly enlivens the scent.

- In the drydown, the fragrance is then complemented by powdery soft musk and vanilla, while the amber adds a slight warmth and resinous quality. A hint of leatheriness and earthiness from vetiver provides that characteristic, distinctive base typical of DHP, while the sandalwood balances it out with a slightly creamy texture.

- The longevity is really very good, and the projection in the first 3-4 hours is above average.

Overall, Harmonious feels just as noble as "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior", but much deeper, rounder, and more harmonious. This dry leathery-powdery aspect of DHP experiences several twists throughout the fragrance journey.

Sweet Iris
Harmonious is, for me, a powdery, sweet iris scent. I think that captures the essence perfectly.

It instantly brings back memories of "Seduction Collection - Iris Crush | Jimmy Choo." In comparison, however, the Boadicea feels more elegant, rounded, and a touch sweeter.

From the fragrance pyramid, I can primarily perceive iris, vanilla, and a hint of floral notes. All other notes, in my opinion, support the scent and are not individually discernible to my nose.

The longevity is good, though not exceptional. The same goes for the sillage. However, I find it pleasant and suitable for everyday wear for that very reason. It’s one of those fragrances that you forget you’re wearing, and it never becomes overwhelming.

The price/performance ratio is definitely right for me here. And every iris fan should give it a try!

My Favorite Fragrance
If you want an impartial opinion, you're in the wrong place.
The scent has done something to me that I still can't put into words. It is by far my favorite fragrance, and that has been the case since the first wear. It definitely has similar traits to the Dior scent, but for me, it is much more mature and beautifully rounded. If you happen to have a little spare change, I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Doesn't have the bite of DHP14, this is almost 1:1 with DHI. Powdery iris etc. Tried a recent batch, soft performance. Meh

BTV released an absolute gem! Makes me think a boozy musky more complex DHP. Cardamom, Cognac, Orris, Ambrette and Suede shine. Stunning!

Unbelievable boozy spicy iris fragrance. Yes, it does have similarities to DHP, but it's not the same. It's better. 10/10 stunning.

Matches Dior Homme Parfum (2014) about 75%. Lighter, more complex and def more beast mode. Beautiful and powerful. Get it if you can.

Opens woody, spicy orris & smoky cashmere. Spicy-woody-powdery dry-down. Average execution w/ no discernible edge vs. designer comps.

You can feel the structure of DH, but with more three-dimensionality, deep creamy iris butter on a woody base without leather

The saffron up top and the sandalwood at the base give me Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Sandalwood vibes.
