When the elegance of Dior Homme Parfum meets the exoticism of Boadicea...
Harmonious is an often underrated fragrance from Boadicea. Most people talk about Hanuman , Blue Sapphire Parfum , Bodacious etc., but what specifically makes Harmonious so special to me?
Well, the fragrance is actually a familiar DNA from "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior", but with a special twist from Boadicea, which I personally missed in "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior". It is powdery and leathery, but rather "dry" - a masterpiece, but I was missing something in the composition that I could find in Harmonious.
But now to the fragrance:
- Right from the start, the fragrance captivates with a gentle hint of ambrette that envelops you with a creamy, light texture. Rum and cognac lend the fragrance a certain opulent sweetness. A light hint of cardamom provides a really subtle spiciness, while saffron and cinnamon give the whole thing an oriental flair. It just smells special, and more rounded and not so "dry"
- Then comes the strong association with "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior"; the orris root adds a powdery, light earthy character, which is complemented by the velvety sweetness of the May rose and adds this slightly floral charm. The cashmere wood also makes the fragrance a little more velvety here and further spice from coriander subliminally enlivens the fragrance.
- In the drydown, the fragrance is then complemented by powdery soft musk and vanilla, while the amber adds a slight warmth and resinousness. A hint of leatheriness and earthiness from the vetiver also create this typical DHP, striking base, but the sandalwood balances it out again with a minimally creamy texture.
- The longevity is really very good, and the projection in the first 3-4 hours is also above average.
Overall, Harmonious is just as sophisticated as "Dior Homme Parfum | Dior", but much deeper, more rounded and harmonious. This dry, leathery-powdery scent from DHP undergoes several twists over the course of the fragrance.
