An intense byredo!
Mumbai noise is mainly a coffe-tonka scent on a sweet oudy base. This is not a laid-back or watery scent like many other byredos. You feel the presence of the scent for many hours.

Not unique in composition, i had many similar scents in the past few years. But the sweet oud base made me buy this scent. You get that intense oud blending with somewhat nutty coffee vibe, and it becomes heady and daring.

Definitely a winter scent, it is very rich for hot weather.

Has a dominant ethnic quality, really suits the rich indian scents. Not listed in notes, but i suspect a dash of incense is there in the midnotes.

I will have this in my collection for many years if it doesnt get spoiled by reformulations.

The sweet oud base may be challenging for many people, be sure to try before you buy.

One-spray statement.
No, really, please, don't do more than 1, maybe 2. And why would you? This thing is strong. It's been 10 hours and I still hear it on my skin pretty well. And goddamn it's good. Eastern, sweet, lush. Davana note gives it a unique religious tone, although I wouldn't call the scent itself unique. I've tried some similar ones, but I just kept coming back to this at the store, driven by some magical force (which is my love for spicy scent to be honest)
Definitely recommend it to oud lovers, to people who are not afraid of a powerful scent. Also, I recommend buying only a miniature. It's rather expensive, and really requires one, maybe two sprays a day to shine. You won't need a big one if this is not your favourite scent of all time.

Bold, spicy, semi-sweet oud/coffee/woods blend, cozy yet interesting
Sampling Mumbai Noise by Byredo, a 2021 release, a blend of oud, coffee, labdanum, sandalwood, davana, and tonka. It has almost a “chocolate with spice” vibe, something perhaps that I’m imagining from the coffee, and has a good bit of coziness mixed with provocation, an ever-so-slightly funkiness of oud and spiciness of davana mixed in with otherwise familiar and centered, yet robust, coffee/sandalwood/labdanum trio. It feels like an evocation of a coffee house or log cabin, with touches of smoke and fire, but overall, a semi-gourmand experience that’s dense and quite fitting

Its concentration is EDP and retail pricing is $330/235 for 100/50ml, in line with most of the house’s catalogue, though it’s also available via discounters.

Currently the only Byredo bottle that I have is Eleventh Hour (though I once owned Sunday Cologne), and Mumbai Noise is pleasant and striking enough that I might look into it.

In the past, "Mumbai" was called "Bombay". The name comes from Portuguese and means something like: Beautiful Bay. Because back then, Bombay/Mumbai belonged to the Portuguese colonies. This can still be recognized today in architecture and language habits that have flowed into everyday life, among other things.
Mumbai is a huge, bustling, and noisy metropolis.
Others have told me that as soon as the plane begins to land, one can distinctly perceive the unpleasant smell of a not particularly clean metropolis with the typical scent of garbage and smog.
I cannot confirm this, as I have never been there.
On one hand, I expected from the name of the perfume "Mumbai Noise," which is listed for the Oud, that I would have an animalistic, loud, and possibly disturbing olfactory experience in line with the common reporting and perception of Mumbai.
On the other hand, I couldn't quite imagine that for Byredo. Perhaps the historical Bombay with its fine villa neighborhoods in Portuguese style could have been sketched in "Mumbai Noise." And so it is.
"Mumbai Noise" opens with labdanum. Woody, coffee-scented Oud takes on the creamy-bitter scent/taste of a fine 90% cocoa chocolate with vanilla and citrus zest, combined with tonka and creamy sandalwood. It results in a refined fragrance with medium sillage. The woody Oud with coffee note smells very unique and is new to me and very pleasant. Together with the other ingredients, a rich gourmand could emerge. However, that does not happen with "Mumbai Noise." It remains an exquisitely unusual yet sweetly lovable, understated perfume. A typically noble, subtle Byredo that exudes what is promised in the pyramid. Just as I have perceived some Byredos so far.
Although the sillage is not so intense, "Mumbai Noise" has good longevity. "Mumbai Noise" is unreservedly a unisex fragrance. I will remember this scent.

The Noise of a Metropolis
India. Mumbai. It unites opposites like people living on the brink of existence from the lower castes and the luxury of a wealthy financial metropolis, temple complexes built centuries ago, and the loudly colorful Bollywood industry.
One inevitably imagines streets dominated by traffic chaos, spice markets and street kitchens, beggars, tourists - a kaleidoscope of various impressions.

However, Mumbai Noise is a very quiet, understated fragrance that, for me, fits more into the ambiance of a luxury resort or an Ayurvedic wellness oasis.
It begins balsamic and resinous, then a dark note joins in, which for me is neither distinctly coffee nor bittersweet chocolate, along with a slightly muted scent of sandalwood.
I cannot detect any oud.

Everything is very pleasant, warm, and enveloping, which is probably why I associate it with a wellness temple.
There is not a significant change in the fragrance progression on my skin, and I do not constantly have it in my nose; rather, I have to get close to the sprayed area. Occasionally, I think I have lost it, but for example, when transitioning from indoors to outdoors, I catch a whiff of it again. Very subtle and without the headache potential like with the Afghan.

For its weak projection, it lasts quite long, which is probably due to the resins.
No noise, but a fine, enticing whisper.
Beautiful, but expensive, and definitely reserved for the upper caste ;-)

There's definitely vetiver in it but is not listed in the notes. I get chocolatey vibe from it but not too much. Roasted coffe vibe is great

Balsamic spicy-woody, coffee on sandalwood & labdanum. Reminds me of Amber Star/Amber Sky meets Mystic Experience/Sand Dance.

Chai? Coffee? Something animalic? Oud? I'm confused. It's a subtle skin scent after all. Would be good for a night out if it was stronger.

Interesting, spicy chocolate without the over sweetness. Depth that makes you want to smell harder. Oud adds complexity and funk, fermented

This was my first Byredo fragrance I purchased due to it lingering all day and night after spraying it in store. The scent is very rich and luxurious

It's not noisy ...
spicy-woody on coffee beans that have been
open for a while -
I would have wished for Davana
& Oud is subtle there!

10 min. great unsweet coffee trip,
smoky, herbal, slightly liqueur-like.
Then met old friends
on the sweet labdanum journey
in wood smoke.

Whoever arrives late. An oud scent with davana instead of rose and a resinous base, lightly sweetened with tonka, but the coffee is already drunk.
