Harmless floral, nothing special
I love rice notes and peony-lychee combos, so I was very excited to try this. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. In the opening, you smell a fresh and clean peony for about a second. Then the rice kicks in, which smells more like a popcorn note to me... Maybe like freshly puffed rice or something like that. It definitely has a toasted undertone, it's not the soft rice steam we know from Kenzo Amour and the likes.
But this doesn't last long. After about half an hour the scent turns back to floral. This peony is very clean, bordering sharp. I don't really get litchi or mandarin, there is nothing juicy about this and barely any warmth to balance the cool peony. And it stays that way until it slowly vanishes away after a few hours. It's a relatively light scent, which I expected from the notes, no powerhouse.
All in all I feel like the potential of the notes were wasted. A fruit-infused peony with a cozy rice steam base would have been just my taste, but this isn't it. Okay but nothing more.
