Those golden September days...
I beseech my autumn scents and a big question mark hovers over me: a gourmand? Not cold enough. A floral humming bird? No, I have to work. An Oriental? Not cold enough. A tart and woody? Did I have a...
Of course, when I only had one perfume, I did not know these problems. But a fragrance helps me to deal with this luxury problem elegantly: Nude Santal and Heliotrope. It's the perfect fragrance for those sunny, warm September days that seem bitterly cold in the morning, but then really turn up the heat during the day and leave you in the afternoon under the illusion that summer will go on for a very, very long time.
This fragrance is perfect at first because it is actually quite light, yet lasts an impressive length of time and remains very discreet. It doesn't impose itself unpleasantly on me or others and captivates with its fluffy, feather-light powdery texture, which is superimposed from the first moment on this pleasant combination of citric and fine spice cinnamon. Three aces on the hand: freshness and effervescence in the lemon, very, very reserved. Spicy, gentle sweetness in the cinnamon, clearly noticeable and yet so light, so carefree. Fluffy, almond-singing powderiness. This first phase is really beautiful and unobtrusive, a wanderer between worlds, perfectly reflecting September: no more summer. Not autumn yet.
A gentle gliding makes the fragrance in the further course, a gliding into a very discreet woodiness, a minimally spicy, unagitated serenity, no tone that pushes itself forward, rather a natural balance that carries the sandalwood in. The cedar is perceptible through its woodsy spiciness, but only very lightly, like a swan song of a forest scent, and sweetly veiled by a rather unsweet, dry vanilla. Everything in this fragrance is soft, light, unobtrusive, wonderfully elegant and yet so natural. A ladylike Chanel costume is as foreign to Nude Santal & Heliotrope as a romantic plaid lumberjack shirt. This perfume is more of a very hip, clean lodge scent, actually "nude" if it were a lipstick, and well suited to a Canada vacation. It knows all the vocabulary of sustainable naturalness. In this respect, Clean has materialized its image here in a completely convincing way.
