Hello everyone, welcome to another fragrance comment from me. You are used to me regularly bringing something new, so here I am again presenting a scent that seems to fit well into summer, just by looking at the name: Ultimate Beach Night by Clean.
Yesss… Beach, so sand and sea, so bikini babes… yesss, it had to lead to that. But wait… the scent is called Ultimate Beach Night. Night, as in nighttime, so hot beach parties, so bikini babes in even skimpier bikinis, moving and swaying their sun-kissed bodies to the rhythm of the music and… yesss, it’s great! :D
Just a quick side question: Which of you ladies would dare to wear those rather skimpy bikinis in the style of Borat? Mu ha ha ha, I bet no one!… (oh shoot, but we are currently having a heatwave, those bikinis are surely very cooling… :DDD)
What do you even call those things, a Sling Bikini? Oh… I just see,… better not google it, you’ll just hate me again… :D
Be that as it may, the scent sounds quite fresh, but due to the marine theme, it could also have a salty aura alongside aquatic or maritime notes, we will see about that shortly. Besides, I think the scent could turn out to be rather clean, as the clean aura is indeed the trademark of Clean fragrances (as you can also tell from the name :)
Well then, let’s start sniffing!
The Scent:
The scent begins with fresh, citrusy notes like bergamot or lemon. A main component of the top note is a slightly salty aura that indeed reminds one of a beach. The scent is hard to pinpoint exactly, but it’s a mix of sun, sea air, and freshly applied sunscreen.
Shortly after, the scent becomes softer and even slightly powdery in the background (while the initially described marine notes still radiate for a while). Additionally, I smell slightly sweet notes as well as a hint of lavender.
The scent then continues in this direction, becoming increasingly clean, powdery, and sweet-floral. The aquatic notes and the impression of sunscreen fade further into the background.
The base is actually as described, so powdery and floral, but now and then I felt as if a slight skin note was coming through, which I didn’t like as much. Some people around me didn’t find that great either, and well, that’s a bit unfortunate since the scent started off well and then became more and more mediocre. The sweetness also diminishes quite a bit in the base. While the scent at the end isn’t really bad, it’s also not a standout… but in case of emergency, you can always reapply it, especially since it is quite low in projection like most Clean fragrances.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite weak, so others would have to come pretty close to perceive the scent on someone. The longevity isn’t the best either, as the scent starts to fade after just a few hours. Of course, it lingers on the skin for a few more hours, but then it’s just some olfactorily indefinable something...
The Bottle:
The bottle is rather functional and thus quite simple. It’s just rectangular with a chrome, cylindrical cap. At least the bottle has a nice pastel blue-pink gradient.
Conclusion:
So, okay, this scent starts off quite nicely, as it is fresh, soft, and pleasant at the beginning. Then it shifts a bit too quickly into the floral-powdery. A few more minutes of that initial beach aura would have given the scent a more individual note, especially since many like to sniff for the impression of sunscreen in fragrances. I just didn’t like the base that much, but that might just be my perception. Nevertheless, the scent in the base is quite generic and thus really nothing special anymore.
As mentioned, the scent is a summer fragrance that feels light and casual on the skin and could definitely be reapplied several times throughout the day. It can be used both in leisure and at work, but it’s less suitable for going out, as it fades quickly and has a weak sillage anyway. However, it could be used at beach parties because, let’s be honest… at such parties, no one pays attention to the scents but rather to the curves of the bikini babes… no, I meant of course to the music, the drinks, and the overall atmosphere!! :D … phew, managed to… uh… steer back on track, he he :D
You don’t necessarily have to test the scent, as you wouldn’t miss anything extraordinary, but you also wouldn’t make a mistake if you decided to spray it on your arm somewhere. And if you generally like clean fragrances, you should at least sniff through the Clean scents. However, if you want something sweeter, you don’t need to look at this scent, as it’s not that sweet towards the end.
Well then, that’s it from me again, have a lovely evening everyone and see you later :)
