the only true thing?
The house of Fragonard has shown courage by naming this fragrance: Because what is actually true?
The only true, one single truth certainly does not exist.
The true does not always have to be bright and friendly; it is often dark and evil But these are only the first thoughts before opening the small ampoule; it contains something truly beautiful, in this eye-catching also true!
Our lovely "Gold" has appreciated this enchanting fragrance in her statement with just a few words; this is "Vrai"! Vraiment! Veramente! Truly!
If I hadn't promised to write comments on the scent samples given to me: I would gladly leave it at this statement!
But this is how I will try to trace this truth in me:
"Vrai" for me is first and foremost the encounter with true nature; walking barefoot across a wide undulating meadow Bare feet touching the earth, grass and small bushes surrounding my legs - freedom lives here! Even if it sometimes stings a little; because thistles and small thorns also belong here.
Whether I am strolling leisurely, marvelling at the blossoms, leaves and small insects, walking briskly or jumping exuberantly through the greenery that swings lightly around me - my goal is a little stream that calls me! My feet finally in the cool, gurgling water - I meet a cheerful, babbling, laughing creature here, I lean back and enjoy all that surrounds me: bright and wide is this sky, this world here!
By the way, there is also a little snack: a little bit of fruit I picked on the way: some cherries, a ripe apple, a few plums - who knows! And a few sips of water, straight from the brook.
(With the pictures that "Vrai" paints me with generous brushstrokes, I can do this without hesitation - in this "Vrai" world everything is still pure and clear ;-)
Satisfied, leaning back, my senses open, I receive the scents that surround and caress me:
Here is a fresh hint of lemon, there is a touch of bergamot and a lot of spicy verbena - a fragrance impression in fine yellow, light and silvery green tones!
The slightly peppery spice of basil (one or two leaves always go straight into the mouth) and a certain something of cardamom - the idyll expands as my soul opens up.
A fine whirring is in the air, birds are having fun above me: are they perhaps laughing at the old woman who lies so pleasurably backwards in all the generously granted beauty of the scent?
Let them! But maybe they are just happy at this moment!
This transparent silence is crowned by noble nuances and fragrances that seem to float in "Vrai" despite their other power: luxuriant jasmine in thick bundles, robust, a little bulky and quite masculine thyme and generous cushions of dark, always slightly moist moss!
A fragrance circle closes harmoniously and so enchantingly; the last notes of the sound and colour impressions already begun with the top note are set with a light but masterly hand: this fragrance work of art is accomplished and it is true!
"L'après midi d'un faun"?
Is it the tones of Claude Debussy that now caress me?
Or is it just the feeling that the earth is spinning? (Eppure si muove!)
Both can be true and much more!
In any case, the House of Fragonard has built a bridge here with skill, taste and a great deal of feeling to the baroque painter of the same name, Jean-Honoré.
Also his works are often characterized by a very special charm, which I can never escape from.
So now, surrounded by "Vrai", which I will have to refresh even more often, I think of its charming "reader".
In these richly-filled fragrant moments there is only one truth: "C'est vrai"!
