Hello fellow sniffers, today I'm back with another Fragonard scent, since I still have the traveling package and therefore have to test this brand more… but of course, I’ll also sprinkle in comments about other brands between the individual scents so you don’t get too bored and unsubscribe from me!! Let’s see how many people still enjoy reading what I write… OH MY GOD, I’ve already lost 150 subscribers!!!
He he, no, of course not,… because I don’t even have 150 subscribers!!! Waah!!! Nobody likes me *sigh* :DD
But alright, let’s get to the scent. This time I’m presenting “Diamant,” and yes, the scent is actually called Diamant, that’s how it’s written in French too, I checked… because I didn’t know either :DD
So, Diamant then. Also cliché known as the best friends of women. Why is that? Because they sparkle so beautifully? When you think about it, a diamond is nothing more than compressed coal that looks like sparkling and cut glass… crazy that men spend so much money on it, argh! :DD
Or at least would spend if they had a woman or girlfriend. Yes, today I’m not complaining about my single status, but I’ll tell you one of the advantages of being single: You save money because you don’t have to buy jewelry! Hooray! … *still.have.to.sigh.again.arghhhhh* :DD
Okay, now to the scent:
The Scent:
Hmm, the scent has a quite nice and interesting start with citrus-spicy notes. I smell citrusy and slightly sweet mandarins, even sweeter jasmine, a bit of pepper, and also caramel.
A little later, the scent becomes really sweet. You can still smell a lot of jasmine, but now there’s also a vanilla sweetness. In the background, there seems to be a slight synthetic note, but I don’t find this disturbing. Later on, the sweetness of the scent recedes a bit. Of course, the scent remains quite sweet, but the sweetness is no longer as overwhelmingly strong as at the beginning of the top note. Additionally, the scent becomes much more interesting and also mature due to the now emerging fruity notes like plums and oranges instead of just being a sticky-sweet calorie bomb!
At the end, however, the scent again smells quite sweet and also pretty synthetic. Well, at least it’s a bit powdery, so despite all the sweetness and synthetics, it still smells nice, but still, I found the ending the least successful part of this scent.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite strong, as especially the sweetness of the scent radiates strongly and envelops everyone in a large cloud of fragrance. Therefore, I also found the longevity quite long, with over ten hours!
The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and ends with a dome at the top. That’s where the chrome cap sits, which is round on top and cylindrical on the bottom with indented sides, where the brand name is engraved. I find the bottle a bit simpler compared to the other Fragonard bottles, as the label here only has a chrome frame and doesn’t feature a colorful floral image, but it does come across as a bit more elegant. All in all, still nice.
Sooo,… to be honest, one might be slightly shocked at the beginning when imagining an elegant scent due to the name “Diamant” and then suddenly being overwhelmed by a sugar bomb because of the many sweet notes. However, most of the sweetness is more present at the beginning, so you should give the scent some time to develop.
Of course, the scent is and remains quite sweet, but later on it’s not just a sugar bomb, but despite a slight synthetic note (which isn’t extremely disturbing, but the scent would have smelled much better without it) it definitely has its elegant sides, as it comes across as quite feminine and even sexy. Therefore, it’s a nice scent for the evening and going out. Maybe not one of those scents that you absolutely must have, but I think it offers quite a lot for its affordable price.
It’s best used in autumn and winter and, as mentioned, fits best in the evening or for going out. So you could give it a try, even though it’s not a must, because there are indeed many more beautiful sweet scents out there.
And that’s it for now. Only about three to four more Fragonard comments left, then you’ll be rid of me… no, not really, then there will still be many, many, many, really very many more comments :D
Well then, I wish you all a lovely evening as always, see you next time :)
