Armani Si Intense

I the short words - to mine nose it is a grown up, more resinous and slightly powdery version of Miss Dior Cherie 2005. I could not believe what I was smelling in the opening. Long discontinued gem in reincarnation! It has more patchouli and feels more refined, not so childish. I actually prefer Si over Miss Dior. As it settles it's softer and more powdery patchouli. The more it dryes it becomes less sweet and more patchouli and red currant. Overall nice scent ,but doesn't leave me breathless.

A warmer, richer Sì

I like and appreciate the original Sì, but I wouldn't necessarily wear it. The lush fruitiness is very enjoyable, but in the end it's a bit too sharp and wine-like on me.
Sì Intense is the solution for anyone with the same problem.
It has the luscious blackcurrant and rose notes that define Sì, and also the same sharp patchouli to tame then. But everything lies on a warmer, more balsamic base, so the boozy and sour aspects are toned down. The benzoin is a wonderful addition here, it makes the scent so smooth and rounded and has a bit of a cinnamon-like vibe. I was surprised that there is no vanilla in this - either the benzoin has a vanillic note here, or they used vanilla and just didn't list it. I also enjoy the davana note, which I am not very familiar with, but I think it's similar to the one in Chloe Nomade Absolu (another fragrance that takes a pillar that is a little too tart for me and makes it warm and wearable).
Even in the drydown this newer turns scratchy and doesn't retain as much freshness as the original. It's fruity in a jammy, syrupy way that feels ideal for autumn.

I love it, but I wouldn't buy it cause I already have Elizabeth Arden Always Red, which is also part of the extended Sì family. I think if you smell Sì, Sì Intense and Always Red somewhere in passing, especially on different persons, you won't notice a huge difference. Only when you're very familiar with them or try them side by side, you do. Sì is the tartest and fruitiest, Intense is warm and balsamic, Always Red is a bit warmer than Sì, but also quite woodsy. I wouldn't cry if some crazy person came into my home and exchanged my Always Red for Sì Intense, they're equally beautiful, but I don't need both.

I don't remember the old Intense in the black bottle very well, and I haven't tried the newest version yet, so I can't compare these.

Ah yes, I adore your big sister (Ur-Si) to bits.
Though I must confess, that wasn't always the case.
Back then, I absolutely did not like Si at all, but now I love this fragrance.
So I was more than curious about Si Intense 21.
I ordered a sample.
It arrived today, and of course, I had to test it directly on my skin.
Si is definitely unmistakable here; you can smell who the big sister is :).
But...
This fragrance is for me Si in a rich, lush, deep, ambered & darker form.
At the beginning, you can already perceive a beautiful blackcurrant syrup note, to melt away (it plays the main role here).
This wonderful syrup is accompanied by benzoin, a beautiful and soft rose & a soft patchouli note.
With Si, it took me a long time to love it.
Here, however, it was LOVE AT FIRST SNIFF.
Si Intense 2021 will definitely be joining my collection!

The only thing that bothers me a bit is the longevity on my skin.
Like with Si, I only get about 6 hours here as well.
I don't know how it is for others, but my skin seems to absorb this fragrance and Ur-Si :D (Si Fiori lasts longer on my skin).
Nevertheless, I love Si Intense 21, and it will enrich my collection.

In my opinion, I find it suitable for cold autumn days and winter.
Whereas Si is, for me, beautifully suited for warm autumn days and spring.

Love at First Scent

I received a small sample of this and I'm totally thrilled. Perfect for the colder season, a bit warmer and pleasantly sweet without causing headaches or becoming sticky.

As soon as the sample is empty, I have to add this to my collection.

Sì and I..

Some things you just want to like. You try them again and again, only to always find that you just can't warm up to them.

That's how I feel about the entire Sì Eau de Parfum line. I've tested so many flankers, but no fragrance has managed to win my heart. In my last fragrance order, I received a sample of the “Intense” version and felt a renewed sense of hope. Usually, these versions are rounder, softer, and deeper than the original. Many an “Intense” version has brought me closer to a certain scent that I didn't like in the original.

Now let's talk about "Sì (Eau de Parfum Intense) (2021) | Giorgio Armani". What can I say: Yes, it is one-sided Sì. The typical scent DNA is unmistakable. I mainly smell the blackcurrant, nestled in dark rose petals and patchouli. All of this is underlaid with a caramel-like warm sweetness. It’s not a bad fragrance. It’s well made - it feels somewhat deeper and softer than the original. Nevertheless, my personal preference comes into play here.

By now, I believe that I only like the scent of roses when it is interpreted fresh and clear. I love the fabric softener rose in Chloé (2007) Eau de Parfum. However, as soon as the rose is surrounded by warm and sweet notes, making it appear dark, dense, and not fresh... it bothers me. A good example of this is La Nuit Trésor L'Eau de Parfum. I never warmed up to that one either. The fruity acidity of blackcurrant is also not my favorite in fragrances. This particularly applies when it is part of sweet scents.

So, what can I say. The fragrance itself is quite well made - there’s nothing to criticize. It just doesn’t necessarily match my taste. I don’t feel the urge to wash it off, but I also don’t need it in my collection.

Who knows, maybe someday I will say Sì to one of the future flankers in this fragrance line. At some point, there has to be a version for me :))
