Regrets, with a ghost of musky honeysuckle.
I regret this perfume. I tested it before I bought it, but I had tested many that day, and I believe nose confusion led to this purchase.

It feels murky, like watery leftover perfume notes muddled together. Not stinky, not memorable, and no solid personality of it's own. The one thing that saves it is that it has a little depth and not being overly bright. It does feel somewhat anchored, but unfortunately it's anchored to nothing. Though the scent is listed above as "flowery fresh," I think it's flowery, but not fresh.

It's floral but foggy. If this smell were a color it would be smog gray. Floral notes are easily discerned, and I do get a whiff of the bergamot (although this isn't a citrusy perfume). And I realize this isn't a musk, but it reminds me of one. Likewise, there is no honeysuckle note, but the blend of florals creates a reminder of honeysuckle.

This contains vanilla, but I do not smell it at all. And there's literally nothing sweet about this.

I don't hate it, but I regret it. Trying to use it up, but I won't repurchase. I'm never excited to wear it.

Luxurious Immersion
Gucci Bamboo is currently my absolute favorite perfume. It is also the only one for which I receive compliments when I wear it. I simply love its fresh scent, and it lasts easily from 7 in the morning until late at night. However, it does not smell like bamboo, as the name and the closure of the bottle would suggest.

I also do not perceive the bergamot as indicated in the heart note. Rather, I notice the trio of lily, orange blossom, and ylang-ylang. I also detect this in the base, along with a hint of sandalwood. Amber and vanilla, on the other hand, are not noticeable to me; the scent feels more aquatic.

Oh yes, and I have one warning: Do not spray the perfume on light-colored clothing, as I suddenly had purple stains that, however, came out with intense washing.

I Am Here!
- screams Bamboo rather hysterically into the crowd.

The newcomer among mainstream fragrances. Gucci presents a rather heavy bottle with unfortunately mediocre content. I didn't have much expectation for it, and accordingly, I wasn't particularly disappointed when I tested it. A rather floral scent that initially packs a punch but quickly proves to be extremely short-lived. Typical Gucci. It has been a long time since anything has hit the market that showcases uniqueness or even quality.

The scent starts off quite floral, with a dense cloud of something cardboard-like. Chemistry kit ahoy! Furthermore, it has a slightly piercing, hissing note that quickly spreads thickly on the skin. Bergamot? Where? It starts off very dominant. The flowers are quite entrenched in the fragrance pyramid. Ylang Ylang is particularly stubborn here and puts all other components into a coma. Subtly, there is a bit of orange blossom, but it completely withers under the power of the Ylang Ylang.

After this opening, the scent then becomes distinctly sweet, fruitily tinged. Again, this strange cardboard thing. What could that possibly be? The vanilla comes in lightly, but unfortunately in such a disastrous state that it almost makes me shudder. Bamboo doesn't make great leaps; it becomes slightly woody in the dry down, but this unpleasant cardboard quality remains until the end. Ylang Ylang is strongly present throughout the entire fragrance journey, but for my taste, it's far too much of a good thing. Everything is overshadowed by this ingredient.

Bamboo hysterically screams that it is here and that it is oh-so-elegant and feminine. It hisses petulantly at the beginning, letting out all its strength and intensity. Strong, yes. At first. Intense too. Intensely chemical. Nothing feels natural, just overloaded with Ylang Ylang. After not even a short time, the scent then dissipates into nothing. It only smells floral, with slightly different, tipsy ingredients that somehow want everything but can do nothing.

The bottle is heavy, fits well in the hand. It is of good quality, in contrast to the content. The longevity is actually a joke at this price and presentation. Sillage is not even worth mentioning.

Gucci sends a real stallion into the race when you think of the advertising, and what happens then? The stallion quickly runs out of steam.

Seduction? Desire? Feminine, perfected elegance? Not a chance.

There is a real deception here. Bamboo seems really intense, noble, and extremely strong in its presentation at first sniff. But all of this is misleading. Many, especially people outside our circles, buy perfumes if they like the sprayer right away.

Gucci is slowly going down the drain. With this fragrance, they haven't done themselves any favors. It is nothing new, not horrendously bad either, but any low-cost discount fragrance can claim that. And for 5-10 times less euros.

Bamboo? Lilies!
~ Inspiration ~
I became aware of "Bamboo" here and it landed on my watchlist until I received a sample to test during a swap.

~ Bottle ~
The thick glass bottle contains a delicate pink liquid. In keeping with the name, the cap looks like a bamboo stalk.

~ Fragrance ~
Bergamot provides a citrus-fresh opening, while Casablanca lilies give it a green-floral character. I perceive ylang-ylang only in the background with a handful of orange blossoms. In the base, it finishes lightly creamy with sandalwood and vanilla.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 5-6 hours. A few sprays are enough, as it becomes too piercingly synthetic for me otherwise.

~ Occasion ~
It fits into the mild days of spring, summer, and autumn (also suitable as an office fragrance).

~ Conclusion ~
It is too unsweet/synthetic for me, and the piercing green lily bothers me. More for fans of Asian-aquatic scents.

My mom has rented the Gucci fragrances for herself.

Not that I don’t like them - I get along well with Guilty Intense - but otherwise, the Guccis just suit my mom better.

Therefore, I don’t want to stick my neck out too far with the assessment of Bamboo, as I haven’t smelled it on her yet.

On me, however, Bamboo comes across as quite unharmonious - almost shrill.
The bergamot speaks up loudly, and it is not calmed by the lily and the orange blossom.
The opening feels intense and agitated.
Ylang Ylang stands separately beside it and doesn’t blend in.
Neither the sandalwood nor the vanilla really smooth the restless scent.
I also can’t find the expected bamboo.

A fragrance that leaves me perplexed and nervous.

But, as I said, the final word has not yet been spoken, as I haven’t smelled Bamboo on my mom yet.
Maybe it will surprise me with its good sides on her.
I am curious about this test.

An aquatic touch, tropical flowers and soft vanilla-woods. Yet somehow I get bits of Alien as well. Nice and uncomplicated everyday floral

Very fresh and citrusy-flowery, it's a modern perfume easy to wear expecially by day.

Gorgeous, feminine white florals with a warm woody-ambery base and a bamboo-leaf greenness.

I wasn't excited about it when I tried it first in spring. But when I tried it during one of the hottest days of the year it was really good

Elegant like Pure Poison, rounder lily than Baiser Volé, but way sexier than both with lily, O-flower + ylang-ylang, mega H+S!

I think I'm the only one who likes it... Sun rays on warm skin, soft, creamy with a slightly cooler start. A feel-good daytime scent.

In search of a fresh yet feminine scent, I found it 1:1 with Gucci! I love the Ylang-Ylang! An unfairly criticized fragrance.
