All currant, no cream
Creamy and fruity is a dream combination to me, so I was very excited to try this long-discontinued scent. I also love Jo Malone's Elderflower Cordial, which was originally issued under the name Elderflower & Gooseberry in the same collection as Redcurrant & Cream, so my hopes really were up.
Well, this is not a bad scent by any means, it's just not very creamy and for sure doesn't smell like realistic cream. I only get red and black currants and raspberry on a soft musky base. It's sweet, a bit sour and kind of fizzy. The fizziness makes me think of a Lush store full of bath bombs and bubble bars. Not sure which one exactly, maybe The Comforter or just a mix of them all. This trait wears off in the drydown, but otherwise the scent doesn't change all that much. Just berries and white musk, that's it.
So, this is a cute, joyful scent for the warmer months - especially if you are a fan of berry/currant scents and Lush bath products. But to me, it's not a must-have to hunt down. If it really smelled like redcurrant and cream, it might have been.
