100% bitter orange
I fall into the small category of lucky people with Jo Malone, my skin for some strange reason retains its scents and I can't complain about the longevity.
That said, I tried Orange Mamalade as soon as it came out and I ended up buying it.
Driven by an adorable campaign featuring Paddington Bear I ran to smell it. What I found is a marmalade made with bitter orange and very little sugar. I liked the linearity and simplicity of this perfume that manages to be both carefree and cheerful as well as adult and refined.
When I want something more gourmand during wintertime, I layer it with the vanilla from Comptoir Sud Pacifique and the result is wonderful.
Too bad it was a limited edition, I will hold on to my 30 ml.

Temper your expectations
Before I get into the scent I just gotta say, I love Paddington. I was either gonna love this fragrance or be deeply disappointed by it. I'm glad to report it ended up the former.

That said, if you've never actually made marmalade from scratch, you're gonna be confused and probably a little upset at the smell here- "why is it bitter?!" is a question I've seen repeated several times on other reviews of this fragrance. It's a gourmand, for sure, and it's bright and cheerful (like the iconic little bear himself)- but it isn't the "candied orange" a lot of people were expecting from this one.
It's also weirdly long-lasting for a Jo Malone fragrance so it's a bit of a 50/50 on whether you can switch to a different perfume later in the day, but I like this one enough that it isn't an issue.

Refreshing orange with bitterness
At the weekend I had the opportunity to test orange marmalade at Jo Malone. It was an exciting journey. At first, the fragrance opens with a very bright orange, but not sugary sweet, but fresh with notes of refreshing citrus. After a while, you can feel a certain bitterness, not a rich orange, but something calmer that reminded me of grapefruit. For a long time I couldn't figure out what the trail reminded me of, it was something very familiar. On Sunday night at the bar, I ordered an Aperol and it was a 100 hit. What my nose felt was very similar to what my tongue felt. It was a cool introduction to Jo Malone, I really like this refreshing bright orange with bitterness. a very good scent for everyday, for a democratic party. The fragrance is of medium sillage, like everything from Jo Malone. I invite everyone to get to know Orange Marmalade.

One of my unexpected favourites. A real burst of orange which isn't sharp. Smells exactly like when you bend orange rind and it pops the pores.

Wonderful bitter, zesty orange with a dash of woodiness as it dries. This would be perfect for hot summer days. Performs decently for a JM.
