Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot Jo Malone 2025

It boasts a very interesting evolution. Let’s start with the opening: sandalwood and super ripe, juicy apricot — not bright or tart, but pulpy, creamy, and absolutely enjoyable because it doesn’t go full gourmand. The spices are light and hinted at, warmer rather than sharp. They add depth without breaking the harmony.
After about 20–30 minutes, the sandalwood becomes much thicker. It turns round and silky, bringing with it an almost lactonic sensation (I swear I’m not crazy, I really smell it), like clean, warm skin. This is when the fragrance becomes super fluffy.
As time goes by, the apricot loses its initial juiciness and turns into a soft, sweet echo… I start picking up incense-like notes, and even licorice (???)!
This is a fragrance that doesn’t aim for sharp contrasts, but for continuity. Warm, creamy, spicy, with that lactonic nuance that makes it comforting and relaxing.
Longevity is surprisingly medium to high, especially compared to other Jo Malone scents (clear-bottle ones).
I don’t find it similar to either Sunshine Woman or Kenzo Jungle ; at most, it reminds me of Vanille Abricot , but only in its sweet/fruity soul — it has the same kind of sweetness and softness.

Top note with a surprising opening… the listed notes definitely do not correspond to the first impression of the scent.
Presumably, the "Spiced" refers to the cardamom that flies around your nose at the beginning. Completely unexpected but for me as a cardamom lover, a lovely surprise. In fact, this fragrance reminds me of a less intense, less resinous but equally beautiful version of Lustre …I like!

The heart note arrives after about 15-20 minutes with the promised apricot and a playful sweetness (perhaps from the vanilla). Generally, the scent now becomes (unfortunately) a bit less spiced and a bit more tame. Still beautiful but more intimate.

After about 1.5 to 2 hours, the sandalwood along with the vanilla breaks through in the base note. Very creamy, very embracing, but unfortunately remaining quiet.

All in all, a very beautiful fragrance with a great transformation. Those who do not like cardamom will have to hold their nose during the opening.

I find it unfortunate that after the first half hour it becomes a quiet scent and stays that way, and spraying on clothing did not help in this case. Cardamom was nice to sniff, but somehow the rest of the scent development gets lost on clothing. It simply ends after the top note. I have no idea where the remaining notes have gone on the clothing.
Therefore, it is more of a scent for the skin with a few more sprays than one might usually do.
At the latest after 5 hours, I really perceive nothing of it anymore, but of course, it is just a cologne.

Whether the price for a bottle is justified by its longevity and sillage… I am still undecided at the moment. Maybe there will be an Intense version someday?

Apricot, as I perceive it, is not the focal point. It does not come across as overly ripe or sticky. Gentle spices surround it very unobtrusively, along with a hint of vanilla. The vanilla adds a creamy sweetness to the whole. After this opening, which combines fruit and spice, the sandalwood becomes increasingly prominent: it smells warm, slightly smoky, and very smooth.

The scent remains close to the skin, appearing very refined and well-groomed. It is not loud or intrusive, rather like an inconspicuous, warm veil. It lasts about five to six hours. That is sufficient for a cologne. An ideal companion in daily life for someone who wants to carry comfort, softness, and at the same time sophistication.

So far, I couldn't find any love in the repertoire of Jo Malone.

Maybe that will change now.
But let's start from the beginning:
