Idôle Now - Floral Vanilla Powerhouse
I've enjoyed most of the Idôle line, save for the original (I find it too generic, and the patchouli disagrees with my skin), the Intense flanker (I never got to try it before its discontinuation), and the Power flanker (which I found akin to a bitter, dry red wine). The first flanker I ever tried was Nectar, and by comparison Idôle Now is the bolder, outspoken sibling of the mix.

Orchid is a note I haven't encountered much, but I can tell it somehow blends and amplifies both the rose and vanilla. The vanilla here comes out much clearer than in the Nectar flanker, where I find it gets a little muddled by the caramel popcorn accord. The floral combo of rose and orchid is very lovely, though, and only mildly powdery. There isn't any of the shampoo-like qualities I get from the original Idôle, nor quite the level of freshness as the Eau de Toilette and Aura flankers, but it does amplify the sweetness to a whole new extreme. The Nectar flanker was my first rose fragrance and I do still love it, but I do think I'm beginning to prefer Now, and will be content to swap it out when Nectar is no longer available (as it has been discontinued). Overall, it is a very pretty, very feminine, "happy day" variety of florals and vanilla.

This is a *strong* flanker from the line, and perhaps one of the strongest scents from Lancôme. You need very little to get the scent to last 6-8 hours, and it projects like crazy. I would caution against wearing this into the office, or any venue where scent could become an issue. Because of the strength of the vanilla, I am unsure about wearing this during summer, but it performs well in spring and would probably do just as nicely during autumn or winter.

Another sweet rose in a sea of sweet roses
Idôle Now is sweeter and richer than the regular Idôle.
It's a typical Lancôme fragrance with that signature syrupy rose you find in so many of their perfumes.
Vanilla and rose are undoubtedly the most prominent notes, just like the notes list promises.
I also get something fruity, juicy and tart, it reminds me a bit of lychee and maybe blackcurrant. To me this smells as if Lancôme tried to make their own version of scents like Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl and Good Girl Blush. Due to the Idôle DNA it feels a little fresher and cleaner than those though.

Idôle generally is not my favorite line by Lancôme. The only flanker that really won me over was the discontinued Intense version, the rest of the collection is nice enough, but feels pretty meh to me. Even though Idôle Now is not even particularly similar to the original and actually a bit more fitting for my personal taste, I get the same feeling here. It's perfectly nice, but a bit forgettable. Not the kind of scent I will still think of in a year or two. I usually have better luck with the La Nuit Trésor flankers.

A Small Defense for Idole Now
Let me start by saying: I am a fan of the Idole line and was a bit sad while reading the statements that opinions about the fragrance are quite divided.
For me, it was love at first sniff, sprayed for testing and bought at the first good offer.
Idole Now opens directly with rose and a lot of orchid; my first association is "rosy floral with a hint of vanilla." I can understand why some describe the scent as piercing. It is present in the nose, stays there, and lingers on my skin for a long time.

Idole L'Intense, which I just sprayed on my right wrist for comparison, is much softer in the opening and a bit fruitier due to the mandarin. But overall, it is also more subdued.

Idole Now is heavier, noticeable, and lasts well on me.

My positive opinion is also influenced by the bottle: I simply find the gradient beautiful, it feels good in the hand, and the wider base of the bottle actually prevents it from tipping over when I push the drawer in the cabinet with the bottles (I still hold my breath a bit each time).

This is how I think old-fashioned scented love letters smelled. Not in a good way.

Sweet, juicy rose. Good longevity. I'm not big on rose so this isn't for me but it didn't bother as much as most rose fragrances do.

Got this for my wife. She and I love it.

One of the strongest floral-vanillas I've tried to date. You only need a little! But it's a beautiful combo of orchid, rose, and vanilla.

The orchid note is quite strong. It's quite nice but somehow it doesn't quite meld with my skin. I won't write it off though.

Now you’re Flanker No. 10? Sweeeeeeet.
Synthetic from the assembly line, soulless. Flowers, plastic, vanilla. Similar to... you name it.

Fresher than the Nectar, more elegant than the OG, purer than the intense, juicier than the Aura.

Sweet, well-groomed shampoo rose. Vanilla-pear sprinkled. I don't think it's bad at all. Pleasantly soft and well-kept.

Vanilla pudding with rose and orchids. You just have to keep sniffing. Simple yet very beautiful. For me, the best Idole.

The idols just keep getting worse. Insanely loud and piercing flank that, to my dismay, doesn't even wash off properly.
