Idôle Now - Floral Vanilla Powerhouse
I've enjoyed most of the Idôle line, save for the original (I find it too generic, and the patchouli disagrees with my skin), the Intense flanker (I never got to try it before its discontinuation), and the Power flanker (which I found akin to a bitter, dry red wine). The first flanker I ever tried was Nectar, and by comparison Idôle Now is the bolder, outspoken sibling of the mix.
Orchid is a note I haven't encountered much, but I can tell it somehow blends and amplifies both the rose and vanilla. The vanilla here comes out much clearer than in the Nectar flanker, where I find it gets a little muddled by the caramel popcorn accord. The floral combo of rose and orchid is very lovely, though, and only mildly powdery. There isn't any of the shampoo-like qualities I get from the original Idôle, nor quite the level of freshness as the Eau de Toilette and Aura flankers, but it does amplify the sweetness to a whole new extreme. The Nectar flanker was my first rose fragrance and I do still love it, but I do think I'm beginning to prefer Now, and will be content to swap it out when Nectar is no longer available (as it has been discontinued). Overall, it is a very pretty, very feminine, "happy day" variety of florals and vanilla.
This is a *strong* flanker from the line, and perhaps one of the strongest scents from Lancôme. You need very little to get the scent to last 6-8 hours, and it projects like crazy. I would caution against wearing this into the office, or any venue where scent could become an issue. Because of the strength of the vanilla, I am unsure about wearing this during summer, but it performs well in spring and would probably do just as nicely during autumn or winter.
