Advocate of the Oud
I am speaking here on behalf of my client. Mr. Oud asked me to tell you the following:

My annoyance, not only at the mere mention, but at the fact that my name has also been prefixed with the adjective "Pure", is hereby firmly expressed. To speak of "pure oud", and then to put me as a representative of the natural ingredients yet two chemicals forcibly to the side, is not only unpleasant, but reputation-damaging.

I am in no way dependent on the accompaniment of such substances and find the defendant's conduct not only misleading but ingredientist. I can alone provide for the notes prosaically embellished in your advertisement, if only you had given me the proper freedom to do so.

Not only do you boast of including me in a concentration of 10% on your website. No, you actually still possess the audacity to speak of an "immoderate dose" (=measurable dose) with this portion. Those artisan artists who extract me from the wood with much effort and love in lengthy procedures, let me come into my own in high-quality oud fragrances with proportions of up to 30%. And they have it thereby not necessary such procedure still with the word "Pure" to apostrophize, but simply let me speak to the noses.

You harness me as a draught horse before your advertising campaign wagon and nevertheless do not consider it necessary me, or at least my provenance to describe adequately and thus burden the unsuspecting buyers with a high risk. In view of the currently called selling price of the equivalent of about € 1,250 per flacon, I do not find this responsible.

For the above reasons, I distance myself expressly from the product Pur Oud.

Oud

Oud Advocate's After Note:
In fact, the fragrance is for a niche brand (watch out!!! I'm specifically not talking about Artisan or Independent brands here, in whose hands oud actually remain and is very likely to be processed much more appropriately and to a higher quality) is not bottomlessly bad. I would compare it with The Spirit of Dubai - Baz. It's quite animalic, but not barnyard. Then it gets woody and unfortunately a bit soapy, which might be due to those awful notes Helvetolide®, Ambrettolide. It would be like painting a finely sanded cross-section of beautifully grained root wood opaque with grey acrylic paint. What, just in view of the price very aggravating is the astronomical price, which is certainly paid in large part just for the name.

Who is looking for an old oak table made of solid wood, should not try that at a very large Scandinavian furniture store and also at least check whether it is also pure oak.

An end product
First of all, I really like oud and I must have 30 different oud fragrances. I've tried this one twice, so I'll take the liberty of writing a review. When a fragrance is extremely expensive, I expect something very special. Well, this one is indeed special, it is the worst oud fragrance I have ever smelled. An extreme smell of manure - pure animalism - comes out of the bottle. But who ? who wants to smell like excrement? That is NOT typical oud, that is what you keep reading about here. Really good oud from the Arab countries smells a thousand times finer, more different and more complex than this. This fragrance is probably intended to shock, and the very honest LV saleswoman also said she found it disgusting. Nobody buys it, it's a curiosity. Unfortunately, the smell of faeces doesn't diminish over the course of the fragrance, nor does it really add anything else. It lacks development. So, be sure to try it and laugh. That's all you can say about it.

Overcoming costs now once
The first thing to say is that I don't have a trained nose in oud.

As often described here take
also I the first 10 minutes stable was
what can already be a little repulsive and I would like to smell in no case so...
But then comes a very nice note to the appearance I so treasures with Ombre Nomade [leather kind aromatic and woody]
And I catch myself again and again that I have to reach.
And just from this point I have asked my environment what they think of it and there was only positive.
But all described it very warm masculine striking but not obtrusive.
Have then still mixed with ON and, was thrilled it makes the whole fragrance once again very deep.
In summary, it must be said that he is not worth his price in any case but he has earned in no case a so bad rating

Country Air
After I was allowed to smell so far some really good fragrances from LV, such as Sur La Route, L'Immensite and, my favorite, Ombre Nomade, I had to participate in a sharing for Pur Lud to also test the "flagship" from this house.

When the bottling arrived, of course it had to be tested immediately, so I treated myself to a good spritz on the wrist. Immediately, I detected a good dose of country air. For the village kids among you, the smell will probably be burned into your memory when it's spring, the temperatures slowly exceed 15°C and the farmer has fertilized the nearby field again to such an extent that the village fishing pond eutrophies almost immediately. This "country air" is, to my mind, the top note of Pur Oud and that is exactly my childhood PTSD.

Not so bad, I thought to myself, that's just the top note. It'll fade soon and get better, so leave it on and smell it again at half an hour. So I smelled it again after 30 minutes and the improvement I was hoping for was marginal. Still my wrist smelled like a cow barn. After an hour and a half on my wrist, this very unpleasant and penetrating note ultimately dissipated and let through a nevertheless quite pleasant woody scent that actually lingered the entire time.

What I was allowed to determine after I tested the Pur Oud for me, is that this type of fragrances, which have often been called "Stinky Ouds" here, are probably absolutely nothing for my nose, provided that the Pur Oud is a representative representative of this fragrance genre. I personally can the Pur Oud absolutely nothing abgewinnen, but that could also be due to the fact that I have generally smelled no other fragrance in which oud is so strongly in the foreground.

The performance of the fragrance is pretty rad, though. On my wrist I smelled him all day and after a spray from the TZ has the whole room smelled like a cow barn. H / S are so top!

I can not say anything about the price because, as I said, this is the first fragrance I have tested where oud is in the foreground. Therefore, I have no comparison fragrance and can give in this regard also no assessment.

Shocking
Oud is one of those things. A perfumer once said that a clear distinction should be made between conventionally Germanized oud and real oud.
The conventional one is probably more digestible for many noses, the "real" one has this extremely potent animalic quality.

Pure oud is indeed pure animalicism.
I know it in this form from the first seconds of Ombre Nomade or Outcast Blue Extrait de Parfum. But the pure oud retains this. All the way through. All the time.

There's no other way to put it, but it smells like you have feces on your skin.
It might work to formulate something wearable by layering. But 1500€ for a maybe?

Smells like a Rasasi or Ajmal perfume with higher quality musks and Cambodian Oud. Nothing like the Night from FM which is wow.
