Gorgeous, but not for me
This is the scent which confirmed that I am simply not a gourmand girlie. Because it is beautiful, and it works well for my skin chemistry, but it's just not me. But if I could be swayed to the gourmand, this really would be the scent that would do it.

I first smelled this scent on a lady as I walked past the bus stop, which should give you an idea of the projection because I was not particularly close to her. I was really struck by the fact that it smelled like delicious chocolate but better, without being sweet, cloying, or overpowering. I think the violet cuts through what would otherwise be an overpowering photorealistic chocolate scent.

I managed to track it down through some internet sleuthing, and I knew as soon as I smelled the sample that I had it right. I adore chocolate, not necessarily as a scent but as a snack. And this smells rich and decadent. There's a bit of hazelnut to this as well, adding to the richness but giving a little bit of greenness too. And then the violet helps lift and freshen the scent.

Overall, I think it's stunning. I'm not sure if this is a gourmand for gourmand lovers - I think Mancera's Coco Vanille might be better suited for that. But if you're interested in a really deep, gorgeous chocolate note without straying into sweet/vanilla territory this is definitely worth a sample.

Gentlemen, Hear Ye!
This scent is truly magnificent. I'm not feeling the pronounced violet, but everything else is amazing and timely.

The hazelnut, dark chocolate, fruits and vanilla go hand-n-hand. Sure, it's sweet. Sure, it's stands out. Sure, this scent is dope enough to make you think it's brother Chocolate Greedy is the rival, but it's not. Though they're similar, CG by Montale leans more baked cookie-ish where CV leans more wearable for any occasion.

This scent will be my forever chocolate, vanilla mens go-to. I have never smelled a troo chocolate scent as this where all ingredients work in tandem. When I wear this fragrance women draw nigh. It's a crowd-pleaser. An office statement-maker. The depth this chocolate gives is beyond the fourth dimension. No lie.

I have been chasing a manly vanilla scent for quite some time now.....and it stops here, along with Creed's Sublime Vanilla. These unisex fragrances are my forever go-to's until the angels summon my presence. What a true freedom to nit be shackled by the perception of what's art vs what's standard. Stand out gentleman. I have a chocolate buddy who speaks for me when I shan't say a word. A friend who extends a welcome to all when my mouth remains closed, yet greets all who is near me. Chocolate comforts. Chocolate soothes. Chocolate says I will never hurt you. Chocolate never judges. Chocolate eases the mind. Chocolate steals the minds of those whom bear witness to the magic of love. Chocolate heals all that in sight.

And to my Afrocentric Puerto Rican brovas', SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE LIGHTSHHHKIN BROVAS'. WOO WOO!

In my 2000s Mike Jones voice: "Sheeeeeyuh!"

Chocolate Covered Hazelnuts
Choco Violette has the yummiest, toasted, chocolate covered hazelnuts I have ever sampled. I couldn`t pull this off in summer, but once the mercury drops, the cravings for sweet gourmands kick in. It is somewhat similar to Chocolate Greedy, but I prefer this. I mean, those hazelnuts really do it for me. The violets are not prominent, they`re more like those candied dried flowers that are sometimes used in patisserie to decorate fancy cakes. If you`ve ever tried Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds from Meiji or Glico, this is their scent in a perfume. Lovely! If I had a teenage daughter, I`d buy this for her.

holy Nutella
Not something I’d wear cuz I hate mancera atomisers and it smells too much like actual Nutella for me to enjoy wearing it regularly but I love the violet. Performance is pretty good also and I feel it would be great layered with something like commodity’s milk or one of those “straight vanilla” gourmands. Also I feel like the violet and the nutty aspects do NOT blend in well

Nutcracker Chocolate?
Greetings to you, my dear scent enthusiasts! Have you been eagerly waiting for new fodder… um, a new comment from me? Although the term "fodder" is quite fitting here, as the fragrance immediately smells very authentically of chocolate upon spraying, but more on that later in the scent description.

Now comes my review of "Choco Violette" by Mancera, where you can indeed expect a chocolate scent because of the name. Chocolate! Hmmm… The dream of all women. But we guys also enjoy chocolate. I can currently enjoy little of this sweet dream, as I am still undergoing treatment for my teeth, but someday… when my biting situation improves, I will nibble on all the perfumes!!!
… I meant, of course, that I will enjoy eating chocolate again. Nibbling on perfumes would be a little more preferable to me… but you silly people won’t allow that *sigh*

Well then, enough talking and whining :D
On to the scent!

The Scent:
I smell chocolate with hazelnuts right from the start. Although I prefer those plain, nut-free chocolate varieties, I must say that this hazelnut note mixed with chocolate simply smells fabulous. Moreover, it smells so authentic that you would almost want to bite into the sprayed spot :D
However, from the heart note onward, the fragrance becomes a bit more perfumey. It still smells of chocolate, but now you can also detect powdery vanilla, a little orange (which smells less pleasant than usual here, and seems a bit unusual to me…) as well as musk, which gradually seems to replace the sweetness of the chocolate notes.
However, as it approaches the base, the hazelnut-chocolate note seems to return, which is nice if you like chocolatey scents. Of course, the vanilla is now stronger, making the fragrance appear more powdery and softer, but it is definitely delicious.
By the way, you can already guess that especially in the later base, after many many hours, the scent smells most of vanilla, perhaps with a hint of floral sweetness remaining.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is good, as you are enveloped in a larger scent cloud that others can also smell quite well. The longevity is, as expected for such a fragrance, extremely good, lasting over 15 hours or so, certainly a long time!

The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical with slanted surfaces leading up to the neck. It is filled with yellowish-orange fragrance liquid. On the front, there is a narrow, vertical label with the name and logo. The black cap is cylindrical and bears the brand's logo on its top. Everything is a bit minimalist, but it looks elegant.

Conclusion:
So! Yes, all the sweet-toothed folks must be curious about this fragrance again because I mentioned chocolate, right? And this time, you don’t just get a "normal" milk chocolate scent, but one with nuts in it, just like the classic Nutcracker chocolate, which seems to be very popular among some relatives in Turkey, as they asked us to bring some of this sweet stuff back (I was just in Turkey until recently).

… yes yes, some… My carry-on was only full of sweets. I had to take almost 5 kilos of chocolate, the remaining 3 kilos went for gingerbread and coffee… the customs officer already smiled, knowing I had sweets with me, because apparently, all Turks do that… :DD

He he, anyway, this fragrance is also successful and smells very delicious, even if it should weaken a bit in the heart note. There are certainly better chocolate fragrances, but this one doesn’t have to hide behind most and is therefore worth a test, especially if the scent is not supposed to smell 100% like chocolate. The question is, of course, when and for what occasion one could wear such a scent, as chocolate as a fragrance is rather unusual. Maybe it’s suitable for going out? Or just for leisure for oneself, when you don’t necessarily want to eat a lot of chocolate, and enjoy it more olfactorily (which I really wouldn’t recommend, as it really creates a total craving…!).

Anyway, the scent is quite nice and thus worth a test. And with that, I have reached the end again and conclude my comment by wishing you all a lovely evening :)

Until then, and remember: stay as nice as possible at home! If no one organizes any absolutely stupid Corona parties or behaves totally foolishly, then we will all get through this crisis even faster and can hopefully go out sniffing to our heart's content again when everything is finally over :)

First minutes are a roasted nut excellence, but the latter, very beefy violet, and the chocolate mix won't do for me. Subtle vanilla.

A very powdery bitter chocolate with hazelnut which takes a little from sweetness (it comes roasted/smoky). A little musky in the dry-down.

This is possibly the most gourmand-y smelling fragrance ever. Altho I wouldn’t wear it, I recognize and respect the artistry of it. Kudos!

I actually think it's really nice. Much more Aunt Paula's Wibele than violets. Overall a bit too food-like, but absolutely positively surprised.

Rich, sweet-milky chocolate with overflowing temperament. Violets are hiding. Later, a hint of ham comes through (?)

Floral violet wrapped in creamy milk chocolate.
Despite the strong gourmand note, it's suitable for all seasons!

Hazelnut ... violet ... chocolate!
Gourmand meets floral &
then rolls around in a vanilla-musk bed.
Quite nice ...

This chocolate shows a lot: from dry-lipstick to salty, smoky, to cozy-vanilla.
Exciting and beautiful, if you like that.

If it wasn't mixed up during bottling, it has a lot of oud scent in it. Also a bit of violet and just a little chocolate.
