Jasmine Saffron Elegance with a Hint of Star Anise
At first, I thought it was pure white jasmine flower power, but after 2 hours I tested this spicy floral scent again. There is a certain sharpness/spiciness in the opening. For me, it’s anise and something woody, then a veil of jasmine. In the dry down, sandalwood and saffron. I can't really understand the similarity to Alien. Alien is much more synthetic and aggressive. An elegant woody oriental that shifts its facets between floral, spicy, and woody.

A Dream of a Fragrance
I can't understand why so many compare this fragrance to Alien. For me, it is a standalone scent that goes in a completely different direction. Here, I perceive the floral notes, like rose, only subtly in the background. It is not too heavy and lasts long on my skin. I particularly like the combination of peach, orange blossom, star anise, cinnamon, vanilla, and saffron. A beautiful oriental. Woody, spicy, and for me only slightly floral. I mainly smell the fruity notes.
It convinced me immediately and lets me dream a little of the stories from One Thousand and One Nights.

Glamour... the 10th Door
Number 10 of my Micallef Advent Calendar surprised me once again. This time I opened the 10th door well-rested (Sunday) and sprayed away happily...
Since my "better" half was there for a sniff test, he made a clear statement this time: Phew... that smells very floral and strong.
And I thought to myself... I know you.
Why did Micallef put an Alien Eau de Parfum in the calendar?
A strong floral opening, floral heart, and a floral woody base. I mainly smell jasmine, a very subtle hint of rose... nothing else. No peach, no saffron, no vanilla. Just the Alien DNA and linear.
The scent is indeed very similar to Mugler's Alien. It doesn't really change but becomes softer and more bearable.
There are only two possibilities here. Either you like this type of fragrance, or you don't.
The sillage is quite strong at first; you are noticed.
The longevity is pretty good; the subtler base is still quite noticeable up close after a few hours.
I would prefer to wear it in autumn or winter; it's too overwhelming for me in summer.
I do like the scent overall, but it's not a candidate for purchase for me. However, as a 10 ml travel size, it's perfect when I need some Alien vibes... for a controversial appearance.
Secrets of Love - Glamour is definitely worth a test, especially if you like fragrances like Alien.

The Expulsion from Paradise - the Second!
The snake coiled quietly, groaning around the gnarled old tree; it wanted to look as elegant as possible, but the weight of the years was noticeable. It groaned audibly.
That was a peculiar task it had here: the reissue of the expulsion from paradise!

The good old "Garden of Eden" hadn't changed much over the centuries.
This pleased the snake: over the years, it preferred the familiar. Just a few sandalwood trees here and younger Kashmir growth there - yes, it could live with that!
Especially the fruit trees still delighted it; they were once again bearing richly fragrant heavy harvests.

It let its gaze wander: there came the object of its desire - Eve!
Even Eve had already lost her first bloom; but to the snake, she still appeared extremely tempting.
"Eve, my fairest!" it hissed. "It's been quite a few Thursdays since we last met here. These eternal remakes always make me quite nervous: so lovely to see you, my most beautiful girl!
Of course, we were given no script again, my fairest!
But the secrets of love, we will still be able to bring to humanity in our tried-and-true way. We have enough experience: let's not count our lived centuries together!"

The snake looked around, then its somewhat cloudy gaze fell upon what it was searching for: a small jar!
The kitchen witch Graziella Dorothea had truly thought of everything: even a little spoon was included!
"Look, Eve, what I have here! A delightful creation for our reissue of this cursed expulsion from paradise!
You must admit, our Graziella Dorothea is very considerate: she knows that over the years, the teeth are not quite as reliable anymore and only raw fruit - oh, my dear, that's not so healthy for the stomach anymore.
So she has created a love porridge for us: listen closely, fairest Eve!
The apple was sourced from Snow White's stepmother; the peach tree here in the garden is heavy with fruit, so she didn't have to search long. The same goes for the ripe, dark purple plum.
She added cinnamon, nutmeg, and noble saffron from her own supplies! The old seafarers had indeed gifted her richly with it back then.
The noble vanilla, which is still a natural erotic, she specially fetched for you from Madagascar!
Eve, my darling: what a love gift - all without skins and cores!
What do you say, fairest of all daughters of paradise?"

Eve hesitated; this porridge smelled tempting - could she perhaps seduce Adam, the old womanizer (although "old" unfortunately fit him better now than the womanizer) with it?
However, she was concerned about the consequences: not the expulsion; they had already survived that once.
But the thought of being chased out before the gate of this wonderfully protective garden without clothing did not please her.
The snake sensed what was going on in its old love Eve; it just needed the promised fee (it had to plan for itself, after all), so its endeavor had to succeed.
It thus played its accumulated charm.

"You know, my beautiful friend, back when you first stood before the gate, how delicious you were: slender and enchanting to behold in your youthful nakedness. Let's better remain silent about Adam with his gooseberry legs."
The old snake chuckled to itself with delight.
"Well, I am sure, beauty: now that the bloom of youth is gone, you will showcase all the glamour of the mature woman!
Don't be coy: close your eyes and just think of the fee!"

Eve tried this truly delicious, spice-enhanced porridge of apple, peach, and plum.
Oh, what an aroma!
Now it happened that right next to one of the richly blooming rose arches stood; the heavy scent of white jasmine mingled with that of the roses and the aroma from the jar!
A light breeze wafted the spicy, exotic scent notes of the precious Kashmir and sandalwoods to her.
Her resistance clearly waned as the mysterious musk lotion, with which she cared for her not-so-firm skin anymore, mixed into the surrounding scent explosion!
She knew this aroma mix would accompany her for quite some time; full and round, as it is.
Where was that damned Adam again? Surely she would find him fishing again.

Oh, what was all this! Young or old, firm or a bit wrinkled - this delicacy that the good old snake offered her had to be enjoyed in this fragrant environment: Adam would complain anyway!
Just because of the fish he supposedly could have caught - oh, men!

Whether Micallef came close to the Garden of Eden in the composition of "Secrets of Love - Glamour," where this little story takes place, is not known.
But it could very well have been so: a fragrance, created in paradise, was released into the cold world. There, it will have a hard time making its mark, except for a few sweet-toothed and adventurous beings.

For "Secrets of Love - Glamour" is like its sisters in the fragrant series, not easy to take.
It is also distinctly sweet, fruity, aromatic, and can, under certain circumstances, be quite annoying.
For the office and events in enclosed spaces, this creation is not necessarily suitable.

Here, too, as with "Secrets of Love - Passion": taking a spoonful/noseful now and then - perhaps even with a strong, hot espresso - is indeed tempting.
But living solely on it is certainly not recommended.
However, it is quite entertaining to test all these Micallef fragrances from the "Secrets of Love" collection, to let them unfold, and to explore their everyday suitability.

But I do believe that the secrets of love are and remain secret - and that's a good thing!

Very similar to Alien but with a little more pizzazz than the current formula. Will definitely buy a full bottle once my Alien is finished.

Strong jasmine with a hint of peach. Powdery-fresh, smells like clean laundry. Not my thing but performs well + smells better than Alien IMO

Bubblegum floral. Some clean laundry vibes in the background, but mostly just a lot of bubblegum floral. Probably a women's signature scent.

I smell a reminder of Alien in this fragrance (same family). Still a very lovely fragrance, M Micallef makes beautiful fragrances.

The spice bomb crashed through the fruit trees in the garden. Only the rose in the wooden pot could withstand it. Strong presence, but beautiful.

Very realistic fruit basket with ripe & juicy fruits, elegantly complemented by spicy and floral notes. Unmistakably present, noble & successful.
