Bittersweet Caresses
If you believe most gourmand promises, they should be sweet and creamy. There is a whole army of fragrances that smell like chocolate, soft serve, cakes of all kinds, toffee, marshmallows, and other sweet treats. The one that has come my way here reads somewhat like that - or similar. Therefore, before testing, I already had a preconceived scent image in mind that corresponds very little to my preferences.
However, the "sweet stuff" is thankfully kept to a minimum. Only the almond and vanilla peek out. Wrapped in a beautifully bitter coat of patchouli, which supports and showcases a well-defined dark rose. A little powdery dust in dark blue is contributed by the iris. Heliotrope remains fine and subtle in the background.
The special thing about this quite successful perfume is its "bittersweet note," which significantly reins in the sweetness. It reminds me of a certain type of musk that has the ability to produce rather bitter, almost rough aromas. And the patchouli likely contributes to presenting everything in a bittersweet light. Yet, I have the impression of having a nose caresser before me, which, like fine sand or coarser powder, ensures a long, easily recognizable "dry down" that is both pronounced and subtle at the same time.
I must say: "It has something that other fragrances only possess in part"... the potential for a high-quality unisex scent that can delight noses of both genders, as it possesses both delicate and robust characteristics equally.
