An almost perfect rose - Oud ....
Hello everyone,
today, late at night, I would like to say a few words about Aoud Absolue Précieux.
I have all 3 of them (sick luxury = I know), but each of the fragrances stands for something and I think that's really great!
Amber Aoud Absolue Précieux = the sweet oriental ;)
Musk Aoud Absolue Précieux = the edgiest of the 3's
Aoud Absolue Précieux = the most arty and classic/simple
Just equals bad and boring?
In certain cases yes, here I am absolutely a no!
But why?
I'll be honest, I've tested around 100 (!) rose oud fragrances in almost 25 years (!), ranging from very, very inexpensive (Oud Mood Eau de Parfum to some from EO, such as EO N°3 Pure Parfum, so I know my way around "halfway".
In any case, 80% always have a disturbing component with which they also work, such as caramel, a green - herbaceous touch, dried fruits, too much honey, too many (dried) fruits or, for example, jasmine.
Here it is "fortunately" an almost pure rose - oud fragrance of the very highest GRADE. Yes, it becomes increasingly sweet in the drydown because of the saffron ;) but the existing notes are an accessory and never come to the fore in the sense that you can say = "ah this is xyz" if you can still smell the leather note in the drydown after x hours.
It starts rosy with the oud, it changes a bit with time = at the beginning it is medicinal, then a bit drier with the leather and in the drydown, as I said, the SAFRAN comes through and from then on it becomes quite similar to the beginning. Only without the medicinal oud. Rose - saffron - wood in beautiful, noble and almost perfect...
For me it is a work of art, a really true one! And when I think it was discontinued.... -_-
The performance is (with mine) when I talk about numbers, then we are in the "noticeable" 14h range (and more), even the sillage is still there after 10h and that is more than remarkable...
Briefly about the OVP, the bottle, sprayer, lid and co., I consider anything other than a 9 or 10 to be QUATSCH. As far as the pure quality of the sprayers is concerned, only Chanel and Dior can compete (no XJ, no PDM, no Nishane and certainly not Amouage), if then Clive Christian! Yes, everyone can see and evaluate the lid and the little stones as they wish = it's a matter of taste, but REST is top!
On the subject of price:
I'm kind of PITY to talk about it because it's relative = just like my words..., but I'm a merchant and at the end of the day I also evaluate the overall package and 1000€ for 30ml is not just sporty.... you have to want that and be a FAN of the brand or the fragrance... , I will NEVER say something like RECOMMEND TO BUY or buy THIS, but one thing has to be said..., it's already AWESOMELY GOOD!
Besides, you can't "credibly" explain to anyone with a normal income that you need a fragrance for (just under) €1000. That's certainly not "shooooot", but that's just me ;).
Is it worth it?
NO!
Is it absolutely necessary?
NO!
Is it good?
YES MAN!
Is it worth a TEST?
Somehow it is...
Would I honestly buy it again?
Now that I have and know it, I'd probably be LYING if I said never, but I'll put it this way, if I could find another bottle at a fair price, I wouldn't say no! Besides, since I know it's discontinued....
Why?
You only wear such a special fragrance for very select occasions (that's the case for me). And if I used it more often, its charm and magic would evaporate very quickly - besides, you don't use 10 sprays of it - it's just too potent for that!
That's why he'll live a WHILE ;)
It's definitely worth a test!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny
