Erba Oud is a fragrance I literally adored.
Imagine the juiciness and freshness of the fruity notes combined with a strong, slightly animalic oud, which on one side add personality to the fruity part, and on the other side refresh the oud, making it a fragrance that is nothing less than magnetic and is sure to get compliments.
The performance is very high, wonderful during the warmer seasons for those looking for an oud in an enchanting summer mood.
A definitely winning contrast.

Erba Pura on "Farmer Seeks Wife": When the Fruit Basket Stands Too Close and Too Long to the Stall...

The Erba Oud is a fragrance that I simply had to test because I couldn't really imagine the combo of the "Erba Pura | XerJoff" fruitiness with stable Oud. Well, I was proven wrong.

Let's get into Erba Oud:

- At the beginning, you can really briefly smell the lemon and bergamot; yes, this initial freshness kick is accompanied by a light and beautiful mandarin, but this freshness doesn't last long, as the Oud quickly takes over. Initially, it is effectively animalistic and very present, for some it might be an overkill, especially if one is not too accustomed to this traditional, animalistic Oud. Hang in there, because it gets better.

- Peach, apple, and melon come in subtly, the Erba Pura fruitiness increases, and you get these "fruity tropical vibes." The Oud slowly diminishes but remains present in the background, balancing itself with the fruitiness. At the same time, a beautiful leathery saffron note comes in. The fruitiness slightly decreases, but the fruity sweetness remains along with a now more prominent vanilla-amber combination. The leathery accord continues to be present and develops beautifully.

- The performance is brutal; longevity and sillage are both very high! The fragrance is truly a H/S monster.

Overall, a great, beautiful oriental fragrance with a lovely niche touch. However, definitely not a blind buy recommendation; you really have to be an "Oud lover" and enjoy dark, leathery scents. I'm still unsure whether this fragrance should join my collection; it's somehow special, but I just can't stand this Erba Pura DNA anymore, even if it is well overshadowed.

Gets the curve after barn-like Oud

This was a risky blind buy for me: the Erba Oud by Sospiro. The thought of combining Erba Pura DNA with oud notes was very tempting. Erba Pura is, of course, one of the hyped fragrances of recent years. The DNA has so much potential, but it can be a bit overdone, and eventually, it loses its charm quickly. Moreover, Oud offers a great masculine counterpoint. While I’m not the biggest Oud fan, I do enjoy oud elements with fruit or even aquatic notes.
Sospiro is a brand that is now produced in Dubai. After a very long dispute with Xerjoff, one can finally discuss and read about these wonderful Sospiro fragrances. Unfortunately, these fragrances are very hard to find in Germany, and only a few shops offer this brand. So they maintain a bit of uniqueness. After the wonderful "Vibrato | Sospiro," this is my second from this brand.

As I said, a blind buy, as it was offered at a fair price, and testing options for this brand are not that easy. Definitely risky, as this is real Oud according to my information. Those with little experience with Oud should not rush into a blind buy here.
What were the expectations? An Erba Pura with a masculine Oud note, with more edges and character. A well-perceptible Erba Pura DNA. You do get that, at least after 20-30 minutes. Especially in the air, the scent is really well done. I absolutely cannot understand the negative statements, especially regarding the complete scent progression. But real Oud is not for everyone.

The packaging and bottle are quite cool. Like the well-known V-Line from Xerjoff, but smaller in packaging, and the bottles are also a bit simpler. However, the velvet covering is much better crafted and feels great in the hand. The golden cap is also luxuriously made. Beautiful.
The scent in the first minutes is already very challenging. On one side, the familiar Erba Pura DNA, which is truly beautiful. On the other side, a barn-like DNA, which is not very pleasant. It is more bearable in the air than when smelled close to the skin. However, after the initial shock minutes, this subsides, and you get what you expect. An Erba Pura with edgy Oud, which is noticeably more masculine. The fruit cocktail in the first hours is very pleasant, mainly with peach and melon. Very fresh and fruity, as one is used to from this DNA. The barn-like Oud note develops into a pleasing soft Oud note that is still very present. Also, bright creamy musk is present and provides a clean, well-groomed touch. The base fades with a woody character, slight leather, and a pleasant sweetness. Overall, a great Oud-fruit scent that one could also like even if they are not an Oud fan, aside from the first minutes.
Performance is rated correctly here and is quite beast mode. Sillage is room-filling, especially with generous application. With 2-3 sprays, it is pleasant and always well perceivable. Due to the strong sillage, it is not really an everyday scent and is also less suitable for small closed spaces. For clubbing, nightlife, or just to stand out, it’s a great alternative.

Overall, a great scent that is worth it. Anyone who likes an Oud twist from the original Erba Pura should definitely test this, not just the first minutes.

Cow Stall and Fruit Bomb - Is That Possible?

To answer the question: Yes, definitely, and here's how it works.
Today, I received a sample of Erba Oud. I couldn't imagine what such a composition should smell like. Can you combine animalic with a DNA like that of EP?
So,
I sprayed the Erba Oud on, and at first, the very animalic oud note stands out. This is what many people perceive as "cow stall smell." It lasts for a few minutes. Then suddenly, from the shadows, the Erba Pura sneaks in, strong as you know it. However, this is not a normal Erba Pura but an upgrade; an upgrade to the better. Compared to the regular EP, this scent is more gourmand. You can smell a hint of caramel and something floral, the origin of which is questionable. H/S is very convincing. Priced at €245 for 100ml, it is definitely within range for a niche fragrance of this quality. If you have the opportunity, then give it a try. Very few people know this scent.
