The misspelled Aria: cumin, patchouli, and "oud"

I've gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure out the name of this fragrance, even to the "Aira" genus of the Poaceae family of plants (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aira). I can only conclude that the name is a misspelling of the word "aria," which in Italian means "air," and also references a song for a single voice that is sung in operas, oratorios, etc. All the other names in this collection are Italian words that reference theater/opera/music, so it wouldn't make sense that this one is named after an obscure plant that doesn't even make an appearance in the note pyramid. Even the website talks about "the elegance of a solo performance." I know that Sospiro is based in UAE and their first language isn't Italian, but jeez, no one noticed this before it got printed on plaques and stuck to bottles?

Anyway, onto the scent. It is a bit "airy," especially in the opening with spicy and oriental notes floating around in a perfumey cloud of amber, most notably cinnamon and cumin. Let's all recite the old cliche of the reviews of oriental frags together, shall we? "It's like walking through a Middle-Eastern bazaar..." But this effect only lasts a couple of minutes, as the earthy patchouli quickly grounds the scent. I don't really get any animalic notes, it's a very smooth experience, with the "oud" only being a warm woody note in the base.

Probably the fragrance it reminds me of the most is Luxor. It has that same smooth cinnamon/"oud" effect, though the tobacco is replaced with patchouli. The cumin and "animalic notes" (even though I don't perceive them, both of these fragrance contain this description in the note pyramid and they smell similar) reminds me of Overture Man. I'd say if you like this style, stick with Overture. It's a little sweeter than Aira due to the cognac note but it's a much better composition.

Also, weird thing, Aira and Viola both gave me this sensation, like I can taste the scent in the back of my throat? Maybe it's a specific aromachemical Sospiro is using that I am particularly sensitive to.

Do you like the Orient? Aira.

Aira is a fragrance that brings a bit of the Orient to your home.
But this shouldn't sound like you should expect a total spice bomb, no. The scent is indeed spicy, but it also has this resinous-sweet facet and features a wonderful note of frankincense.

The fragrance starts off with this pleasantly spicy cloud that rises into the air.
It simultaneously possesses this resinous-sweet facet.
These resinous nuances, which are often found in oriental fragrances, even seem to me at times slightly "refreshed." Especially in combination with frankincense, this impression occurs more frequently for me.

As time goes on, it becomes a bit "sweeter." However, it definitely does not become overly sweet. It's just this resinous component that radiates a little bit of sweetness. Slight earthy impressions also come into play. Additionally, a woody oud note develops, which is really "pleasing."
You don't have a dominant, animalistic oud here. I find that super pleasant.
The frankincense even lingers with me until the end.

The fragrance lasts around 9-10 hours on me and has a really good and appealing sillage.
Unisex? I say yes.

Dark Forests and Animals in the Shadows of an Amber Moonlit Night: A Must for Oriental Lovers:

Yes, I know, very poetic title... and yet that was the best description that came to mind quickly for this dreamy fragrance. The Nero Collection by Sospiro has brought quite a lot with it, even though I had some doubts at the beginning, because I am generally cautious with such big releases (Cavatina, Aira, Diva, Viola, etc.). However, the scent tree of Aira convinced me a bit, so I had to reach for the bottle directly...

...and yes, after the first comments, I expected something "wild", a lot of animalic notes, etc... but we can be so different. First spray... and... ? Let's get into it:

- In the opening, you already get a concentrated dose of oriental; high-quality, luxurious, the combination of ambered patchouli flies at you. Beautifully warm-earthy, with a slight spiciness. Gradually, the incense note also becomes clearly noticeable; everything is harmoniously balanced and absolutely "wearable". I find it dreamy.

- Then comes the delicate cumin note. For some, it might be too much, and to be honest, in overdose it can be annoying even for me... but here it has been tamed and skillfully used, yes, a slightly earthy sharpness, practically hardly animalic from my perspective. Probably the labdanum also contributes to keeping it in check, as a certain light resinous quality subtly works in and gives the fragrance a minimal balsamic sweetness.

- In the drydown, the scent becomes woodier, animalic - yes, perhaps for the untrained, when you suck the last scent particles out of the skin with your nostrils, but for me in the air it smells absolutely divine; ambered, woody, slightly sweet, very little sharp, but overall everything is wonderfully balanced.

- The performance is grand; longevity definitely a 9.0, with sillage around 8.3-8.5, hence adjusted down to about 8, but you can't complain.

Overall, a really beautiful, creative, oriental fragrance with edges and corners, but these are designed in such a way that they might seem slightly challenging to many, but can always be mastered and enjoyed. The fragrance undergoes a lovely development and is really well positioned compared to many other scents.

...definitely test it beforehand, unless you are an oriental lover, then you can almost grab it blindly :) ... and I don't say that often....

Naughty with you - for the rest of my life!!!

Wow wow wow - omg. I can hardly put this excellence into words, but I will try. ;-)

A few days ago, I was gifted this - one could get used to this monthly.

The bottle is, as always, on point. The packaging from Sospiro Aira is fitting, and it takes a little while before I can hold this olfactory treasure in my hands.

Now the time has come, and the fragrance composition makes its solo debut on my skin, uniting, I get goosebumps and cravings rise within me for more.....

Amber and incense transport me to a mysterious world where labdanum awaits me as a sexy predator, hypnotizing and binding me - there is no escape. I am obsessed with this scent with its animalistic notes and seductive oud.

It's a shame that it only comes in 75 ml - because I could drink it.

Without exaggerating, this fragrance is more than unique. If there were a fire, this scent would be the first and perhaps the only one I would take from my collection. ;--)

Certainly not intended for every type of woman/man. One must have the courage and a certain power as well as elegance to wear this fragrance.

Ps. Why not buy it twice, for example, for the glove compartment in the car? ;-)
