Lemon oil on a viola's fingerboard
Unlike Il Padrino I really like the name/theming of this fragrance. It really does smell like a string instrument. It reminds me of when I'm changing the strings on my guitar and applying lemon oil to the fretboard. A STRONG lemon note precedes a really nice woody heart. Oakmoss, cedarwood, and sandalwood come together to produce a creamy refined character.
I haven't tried Town & Country that Viola is being compared to, but to me it seems like a cross between Homme Anniversary and Outlands. It's got the lemon candy and traditional woody character of Homme Anniversary (without the leather), and it's got the smooth sandalwood and ambery drydown of Outlands. I don't like it as much as Outlands, but I think I prefer Viola to Homme Anniversary. Not full bottle worthy for me, but an enjoyable scent. Very good performance, lasts much longer than is being given credit for in the previous reviews.
