La Nuit de l'Homme meets Fahrenheit Absolute
Briefly, YSL La Nuit de l'Homme meets Fahrenheit Absolute. Unfortunately not resulting with synergistic effect, because the best features of both perfumes are hidden in this l'Intense. Lavender, cardamom and iris paired with sweet darker notes of tonka and vanilla, but this alcoholic sweetness lacks refinement. Seems this perfume's target groups are more mature 1 Million lovers. Le Parfum version in my opinion is more successful attempt to make La Nuit darker. L'Intense is nothing groundbreaking, and just an average release.

Grotesque Chemical Slop for Tweens
This is truly wretched. If you want to create a mental picture of how this smells, imagine the following: a gossipy, oversocialized teenage girl sits in the driver's seat of her father's car, waiting for her homosexual male friend to return with the artificial vanilla drinks they just ordered from Starbucks. She sits there, quietly and nonchalantly applying cheap plasticy makeup in the mirror when he bounds up to her window, frightening her in the process. She yelps and drops the compact on her thighs, splattering the ionone-laden powder all over the seat and center console. "Oh my god, I'm sooo sorry!" he says and leans in the window to brush her off, spilling the corn syrup sweetened drinks inside the car in the process. "My dad is going to f*c&#^g kill me, Ja'relle. We need to clean this up now!" They pop the trunk and discover a three pack of Lysol linen-scented disinfectant wipes and an unused cannister of Febreeze. They hastily scrub at the saccharine, powdery mess now permanently imbued in the carpets with a duo of America's most disgustingly and synthetically scented consumer cleaning products. "We need to get some of those little blue tree air fresheners to cover up the smell" she remarks. He agrees and they quickly head to the nearest gas station. With a blue "New Car Scent" tree freshly hung from the rear view mirror, they head home and park the car in the garage. In uncharacteristically quiet fashion, they slink away to their friend's house down the street, unnoticed. Four hours later, her father walks into the garage so that he can grab the cleaning products that he had purchased but forgotten to remove the night prior. He pops the trunk. Not there. But wait.. what's that? He lifts his nose into the air, catching the faintest aroma of the tragedies that unfolded on his upholstery mere hours ago. He squints and sniffs a few times more, realizing that the scent is coming from inside the car. He stands up, closes the trunk door, and heads to the driver's side door. He hesistates for a second or two, and then slowly opens the door. Immediately, his eyes and nostrils are greeted by the heinous chemical abortion wrecked upon his automobile in full, synthetic, gory detail. He closes the door, and then his eyes. "I'm going to f*c&#^g kill her" he mutters under his breath.

is good.
This perfume is a good example why I never listen to people's *opinions* on scents - or anything really. When it launched, it got no good rep and I don't even know why. When I first tested it - it became an instant certified classic to me. I can't explain how special this scent is. I ain't no expert on notes but I can pick up the iris strongly - I know that note from other iris fragrances I own, and overall it shares the "feelin of the OG La Nuit while being different in a very good way.
I can appreciate something that smells this damn good. If it's cooler and it's dark out,
often will reach this one. Even better when around a young lady.
And how come there are complaints about performance? It radiates on me, and I been told by people around.
This one is discontinued and I am sure cause I don't see it on the shelves anymore. So I rushed to grab a bottle, and I am damn glad I did.
You should pick one up while You can, You will thank Me later.

The new King?!
I have used about 23 bottles of La Nuit De L'homme in my life, about 9 bottles of L'homme.
I know the FRAGRANCE DNA In and Out.

This perfume La Nuit Intense is awesome - period. The only dangerous thing is that it is even SOFTER than the already unisex/feminine La Nuit De L'homme, and that has also been the reaction from women to this perfume so far.

Either they find it too soft or the IRIS turns them off (it's the same with Dior Homme/Intense); when you smell an iris fragrance too closely to the test strip, you get a relatively unpleasant earthy/carrot scent from it.

The dry down after 6-7 hours is indeed "fuller/richer" than the La Nuit EDT, La Nuit EDT is "sheer," the Intense is "packed," even though the longevity isn't bad - it remains a very, very gentle scent.
I love the new Intense (but that was obvious). However, women currently prefer the EDT more!

Second Attempt
I already wrote something about this flanker of La Nuit de L'Homme almost a year ago. Back then, I was slightly disappointed. The reason for that was that I tested two fragrances simultaneously. Just before Christmas, I wanted to try two sweet scents for the cold winter season. On one hand, I tested this one, and on the other, the Armani Code Profumo. My judgment was clear. The Code Profumo won by miles. Also with this beast mode performance. Actually, it was an unfair duel, as this one is really not bad, even though it quickly fades after a while. Perhaps the anticipation and expectations were simply too high.

In the meantime, this flanker is even in my possession. For just under 70 euros, you can get 100ml. Not cheap, but for Yves Saint Laurent, it's reasonable.
The bottle is really very, very pretty. The usual L'Homme bottle, but the gradient is really lovely, and this color combination fits perfectly with the sweet wintery La Nuit.

Regarding the scent: At the beginning, there is a strong iris dominance, similar to Dior Homme. A carroty and earthy iris, slightly powdery. This dominance of iris lasts about 1 hour and then fades slightly. A clear La Nuit DNA follows. However, it is noticeably cozier and more wintry. This is of course due to the tonka bean and vanilla. Like in so many winter fragrances, two great notes that provide a high cuddle factor. Here, it is also very elegantly executed. The DNA is clearly recognizable. A nice and sweet companion for the colder season. This creation is not very masculine, but masculine types can wear such fragrances well, and women might like this one. Similar to Dior Homme, it is more of a sensual evening and night scent. After the powdery opening, it is an elegant sweet fragrance. Perfect for cold days. One should not overestimate the iris here, as it is really almost exclusively in the top note.
I cannot confirm the name of the flanker L'Intense. In terms of performance, La Nuit de L'Homme is significantly better. At least the old batches, as it has been reformulated. I had hoped for more performance with the L'Intense addition. The longevity is not bad at about 6-7 hours, but especially for sweet winter fragrances, there is definitely more potential. Moreover, it really only has a significant sillage for the first 3-4 hours. Since it is not a work fragrance anyway, it is not a hindrance.

Overall, a great flanker that you don't necessarily have to own. Especially regarding performance, there are better winter fragrances. I like the sweet intense version of L'Homme much better. For me, it is a great alternative for colder evenings.
Addendum: After wearing it several times and having it for a few months, I must elevate it again. It is a fragrance that I like even more after wearing it multiple times. Worn often in the evening, I felt very comfortable. The beautiful, very carroty, powdery iris simply comes across very stylishly in combination with vanilla, tonka, and patchouli. A great sweet-powdery combo that is quite special. Plus, the La Nuit DNA. Wonderful!
