Predominent rhubarb, a sprinkle of roses and a good dose of vacation vibes
Corfu might be the stand-out fragrance in my custom discovery set right now. I'm still surprised by how much I've fallen for it and I pondered for awhile with going for a full bottle.
Predominent and realistic rhubarb note greets me at the beginning. I didn't think I would enjoy rhubarb as much as I did. Rhubarb is sweet and sour, tart and fruity. I'm also getting a subtle note of freshness coming from the basil, which, paired with the rhubarb, further elevates this scent into a refined, sophisticated scent. I pictured a rich woman, living her best life, sipping a cocktail. There's a sort of almost green, vegetal-like (almost spicy) accord I'm getting, like burying your face deep into the leaves (of rhubarb) and inhaling it all in. Might be the mix of rhubarb, basil and blackcurrant buds. As it moves on, rhubarb is still at the forefront, although I start getting a bit of a fresh, sweet and slightly "perfumey" rose. I'm not really getting any other floral note. Drydown starts getting warmer with a hint of that cashmere woodiness that's envelopping and a certain earthiness I can only attribute to patchouli and moss. Rhubarb has become a little more non-descript, still giving off some tartness and fruitiness to the fragrance.
Like I said, I pondered during a long time into going for a full bottle or not, so much so that I emptied my decant before coming to a decision. I'm not sure I can pull off the scent and the sour rhubarb at the top made me hesitate a little. The "perfumey rose" in the middle also didn't fit my style which is why I decided to give it up. It doesn't have tropical vibes, but it does have a certain vacation, leisurely kind of vibe, which is why I was leaning on going for a full bottle. Still a very good scent and one that could be enjoyed by many people!
