Grand Musk Pana Dora 2021

Grand Musk makes an immediate statement with a bold, animalic opening that lasts for about 3-5 minutes. Maybe too strong, but wait! Trust me! After that, it settles into a rich and beautiful blend of animalic musk, rose, florals, and spices. It stays noticeable throughout the entire wear and, to me, works best as a nighttime fragrance. Dirty… still elegant!
The performance is excellent, with impressive longevity and strong sillage.
I bought it blind, and while I wouldn’t recommend doing that, I’ll never regret it!

Deer
The deer has always been the epitome of a noble and proud animal for me. It radiates strength and masculinity, yet also appears majestic and wise. The great leader that the herd follows without hesitation, feeling secure because he possesses this soft and beautiful side as well.
The lion is said to be the king of the animals, strong, wild, and fearsome. In reality, however, he is actually the laziest of them all, always taking the best for himself. And the way he treats his wife(s)... well, let’s leave that aside. But the deer... Noble!

Pana Dora
I naturally became aware of Pana Dora through the deer flacons. To get this out of the way: Flacon design 10/10! Deer flacon, Swedish house... it can only be damn good!
After several years in the "fragrance game," I have found my niche and am very happy about it. Mainly because I no longer have to chase every current hype and test through countless types of fragrances. I like it classic, masculine, with lots of leather, soap, etc., etc. Definitely everything, just not sweet and nice!
And that’s exactly what I hoped for from these graceful deer flacons!
And at first...
... I was disappointed.
Don’t get me wrong, all high-quality fragrances and definitely just right for a very large audience.
But definitely too nice for me. It wasn’t really what I associated with a Swedish deer. So, Pana Dora was off the list and out of my mind.
Grand Musk
Pana Dora was off the table for a long time. Until I stumbled upon a video discussing "shelf warmers." And there, the aforementioned Grand Musk was introduced. "The only silver deer," "Animalic musk," "Gentlemen"... That was enough for me; I had to test it again!
Not long after, it was (once again coincidentally) time, and I could test it...
... And I was immediately smitten!
That was exactly what I had envisioned under my original ideas and associations. The mighty and proud deer in all its splendor!
How does it smell?
Right after spraying, one perceives an animalic spicy musk note. For many, it seems very animalic, but for me, it’s just right and very pleasant. This animality diminishes somewhat after a while but remains throughout the entire fragrance journey. What I want to add is that I don’t want to break it down into all the individual notes (I’m too much of a dilettante for that anyway), but rather describe it as a total work of art:

It is definitely very classic and creamy, almost a bit boozy, but more like a good brandy. The combination of powdery white musk and animalic musk results in a simultaneously clean and floral, but also dirty and sultry scent. All in all, definitely sensual! And above all, it feels like there’s not too much of any part.

Notes that I definitely perceive (besides the aforementioned musk) are rose and amber. I think it’s the amber that unfolds its warm and slightly sweet note here. The rose makes it classic, and the clove is also undeniable in the interplay. Generally, I could interpret all the other listed notes as well, but I find the ones I mentioned here to be the most decisive for me. Leather is also clearly perceptible in the later stages and complements the animalic musk perfectly.
In summary:

Very elegant, creamy, and liqueur-like. Clean and dirty at the same time and above all: Sensual!
Animalic meets powdery musk and leather, amber and rose blend wonderfully together.

A fragrance that I want to sniff again and again, which somehow makes me addicted.

Longevity / Sillage:

Top... Just right, in my opinion. I’ve been wearing it for about 9 hours now, still perceive it clearly, but it doesn’t bother me. On the contrary. 3 sprays are absolutely enough to make my girlfriend notice it positively from 2 meters away outdoors, 3 hours after spraying.
Price / Performance:
100 ml, beautiful flacon, absolutely high quality, and a very unique DNA. For me, it’s absolutely worth the money.

For whom?
I understand that such a DNA can be polarizing. As I said, it is very classic and specific. Even though the animality is just right for me, I understand that it’s not everyone’s darling and can be too specific for many. But that’s what makes it and the niche so special. It’s simply not nice! Whoever wears this deer wants exactly what is offered here. It’s more likely the classic 30+ wearer. But perhaps for the particular lady, on whom it would probably smell wonderful as well.

Conclusion:
This fragrance is exactly what I associate with a deer. It is noble, graceful, animalic, strong, and beautiful. The image of the proud deer in a misty forest clearing comes to mind when I have to describe it. An absolute "under the radar" fragrance and for me so far the best Pana Dora!

I have tried all the Pana Dora fragrances, and this one convinced me immediately. It is something special and at the same time unique. The first moment when I sprayed it on my skin was rather "brutal" - "What is this?" - but afterwards, I couldn't stop smelling it. One spray gently colors the skin brown, and you can tell that it is a high-quality fragrance.

On the skin, I find it significantly better than on a strip. After an hour, it develops into a wonderful scent for me. The blend of blueberry, vanilla, and spices is simply a dream. The whole thing is naturally very animalistic, refined by the musk, creating something I have never smelled before.

So far, I have already received 2 compliments.

For this fragrance, you need to have been in the perfume game for a while. Otherwise, you will be overwhelmed here and your sense of smell will never recover.
Yes, dear perfume lovers, this scent is provocative, and it is the darkest and most animalistic rose I have ever smelled.
Creamy musk? Not a trace. Pleasing musk? Nope.
Delicate feminine rose? Not at all.
My dear friends, this is the epitome of the Dark Rose of the Sith. Crawled out from the darkest corner of this planet. It could be hell.
You don’t even need to dress up for Halloween. Just wear Grand Musk and you will scare your fellow humans. I am also sure that the devil himself is making an appearance. The true one takes the throne. The Grand Musk.
Was that satire (or maybe not)?
Anyone who looks at my collection will easily see that I am a Pana Dora fan, and it was clear to me that Grand Musk had to join.
I am truly not a fan of roses. For me, the most beautiful rose is Oud Satin Mood, but it doesn’t always have to be pleasing and floral. No, the rose can also be interpreted differently. Ibrahim must have thought the same and worked long on a new interpretation of the rose, and thus Grand Musk was born. Straight from hell.
The scent progression:
The rose is very strongly present from the opening, and even in the dry down, the rose does not hold back. It keeps blasting but is accompanied by various accords. First, by the white musk, so that the animalistic can take over later. The spicy accords like leather and incense know they are there to accompany and do not dominate. No, the protagonist is the musk.
In the dry down, a bit of amber comes into play to make the whole thing a bit softer and warmer.
This spectacle lasts a good 10 hours, with the musk giving a little after hour 6, and the rose, with a bit of woodiness, continues to take over for the remaining 4 hours.
I tried to layer but failed. No matter what I tried, you cannot layer the DNA of Grand Musk. It always wins.
I find the scent good but I can also take it. I also like AirTiger. (Oh, I have to try layering that.)

I bought it, and I am more than satisfied.
