I tested Stricker for the first time last Saturday.
On the back of my hand. I found it quite okay and dismissed it for the time being.
Then yesterday my sample arrived, and I gave it another chance. So, 4 sprays and let's see what, and above all, if it’s worth anything...
... And indeed, here I am about 15 hours later and I am very impressed!
First of all, let me say the following:
Stricker doesn’t reinvent the wheel. But it doesn’t have to. The fragrance comes across as very classic and clean. In a way, I recognize similarities to
Pikovaya Dama and
Irisss. Somehow a bit of both, with a pinch of that well-known and spicy Pana Dora DNA. Especially in the later stages, when the musk and a slightly woody spiciness emerge.
In a way, it could also be a Stone label. But with a certain dose of "Sweden".
Fragrance Development:
Stricker starts with spicy saffron and thyme in the top note. However, this quickly becomes floral and creamy. Here, in my opinion, the rose and aldehydes really shine through. Nevertheless, the oriental aspect is also undeniable, especially with closer sniffing and probably due to the oud and saffron…
In the later stages, something spicy comes back, which will probably be the oud. In fact, it’s very spicy and woody, absolutely not animalic. The musk then gives it a nice dose of powderiness.
At some point, after about 8 hours, I think I recognize something towards thyme again, but I could be mistaken here.
Longevity / Sillage:
I applied the fragrance around 6:00 PM and I can still clearly perceive it at 4:00 AM. We are definitely talking about really strong performance in terms of both longevity and sillage!
Due to its DNA, it never becomes intrusive or overwhelming, even though it is constantly present. As far as my taste is concerned, it’s just right!
Conclusion:
Stricker is a clean, classic, and noble fragrance that comes across as floral, spicy, and powdery.
Anyone who likes fragrances like
Pikovaya Dama or
Irisss should definitely give it a try!
It’s the perfect fragrance for occasions where you want to be noticed but not to stand out too much. Its DNA feels very pleasant and has actually already earned me 3 compliments (which is quite rare).
In terms of quality, it feels very high-end and elegant to me. In fact, I think it truly deserves its name, as I can easily imagine the good Herbert Stricker with this fragrance.
Like
Pikovaya Dama, I see
Stricker as absolutely unisex.
The bottle and packaging are an absolute eye-catcher!
So, today it’s a short and factual review, but I need to continue enjoying the fragrance!
Thank you for reading!
