The Imposing Ruler of the Forest
Very noble high society leather harmoniously balanced. Filling, shimmering animalistic musk lingers in the air as if detached from the fragrance. Gentle resins of the wilderness like golden blood. Sweet-warm incense with fine sage leaf and a pinch of saffron threads. Lightly dosed friendly oud brings dry tobacco leaves warmed by the sun.

I could smell almost all the fragrance notes, and they seemed to have their place. Like many from Pana Dora, it is definitely pleasingly designed, although one should like leather and rather deeper scents in this case. In my opinion, the fragrance tends to lean more towards a male clientele, but it will certainly also appeal to women who enjoy this type of fragrance notes.

As an everyday scent, it is rather unsuitable. More something for special occasions where one dresses up and wears a suit (opera visits, fine restaurants, parties with dress codes, weddings, vernissages). Given the price, it’s better that way.

All in all, a very beautiful, high-quality, strong-elegant but not overpowering fragrance, with rather masculine aspects, that fits well with the theme that was intended to be implemented.

Whether the price is justified is probably something everyone must decide for themselves in the end. The fragrance is definitely very high quality and beautiful, but in my opinion, 110 € less would have sufficed.

The stag gallops through the forest with burning hooves
I am venturing into my first review because I was really excited when the fragrance arrived, and it is exactly what I imagined and wished for.

At the beginning, I am greeted by a burnt leather note, along with a slightly creamy saffron that becomes a bit stronger over time. And after about 10 minutes, the ylang-ylang joins in, giving everything an extra kick of spice.

The resins then make it almost slightly sweet again, but they don’t overpower; instead, they remain in the background, and then the woody notes and tobacco reveal themselves to me. It is rounded off and made even darker by the musk and oud.

For me personally, a dream of a fragrance. But certainly not for the masses, as the mixed reactions in the statements also show.

It can be challenging
Swedish Leather is a fragrance that can indeed come across as challenging. Definitely not a blind buy! Smoky leather, dark, mystical, and somewhat resinous.

The scent starts for me directly with this strong smoky leather note.
Furthermore, for some reason, I have associations with cucumber water. Imagine opening a jar of pickles and the smell you perceive then, I get that here as well, albeit slightly. All of this paired with the smoky leather.
The cucumber association fades for me after about 20-30 minutes.

After a while, I also get a hint of saffron alongside the smoky leather.
The resins definitely kick in during the mid-section, and you could almost say that it develops a very slight sweetness here.
Then, relatively rough, woody nuances come through, as well as the rather bitter tobacco.

Here and there, I can generally understand the associations with a kind of ashtray.
Swedish Leather is indeed a special fragrance. It knows how to stand out, and that makes it somehow special.

Personally, I find it quite appealing, but only after about 30-45 minutes, which unfortunately does not make it a candidate for purchase for me.
The general public will definitely not like this fragrance; I am quite sure of that.
Here, the word niche fits perfectly with the DNA.

A Journey Through the Winter Forest
Let's start by saying that I received this fragrance around Christmas time. I've always been a fan of heavy scents. A first spray of this fragrance on my hand immediately opened my eyes. To begin with: this scent is not for everyone; it's more suited for trained noses. But where do I start best? For me, this fragrance begins with a resinous, smoky note. That's why I associate it with the Christmas tree under which it lay. At first, it reminds me of a wooden cabin in the middle of the snow, in the depths of winter, in a forest full of spruces and firs. The familiar smell of trees, and the fireplace in the wooden cabin is burning. The chimney is steaming and mixing with the scents of the cool forest. The chimney steams more and more, and the smoky accents of the fragrance prevail, as if I suddenly find myself sitting in the cabin in front of the fireplace, wearing an old, beautiful leather jacket, holding a whiskey and a cigar in my hand. This moment lasts a long time. It's a long evening by the fireplace until the fire slowly but surely goes out and the scent becomes softer. Nevertheless, the gentle aroma of smoky notes remains. Now, softer notes like saffron join these notes; however, they do not take center stage but simply round off this evening by the fireplace and make it perfect. Over time, the fragrance becomes softer, ensuring that the beginning is no longer such a "I-come-bursting-in" effect. The interplay of the softer and smoky notes creates a refined balance between gentle roundness and dry, smoky depth. A masterpiece that one must appreciate! For me personally, an extravagant scent for the cold season, perfectly suited for bars or special occasions. Longevity and sillage have, in my opinion, been totally underrated by some people or groups here. I personally cannot understand this, as it lasts on my clothes for at least 3-5 days and on my skin for over 20 hours. In the first hours, the sillage is also very present and strong; only after 6-8 hours does it slightly fade, but it is still well present. This is my first review - please be forgiving. :)

Leather scent of all dirt
So, how do I begin..
About the scent:
- It starts off very piercingly warm with a sweet finish of saffron, immediately combined with the heart notes, most prominently leather. It has an immediate animalic quality (which, according to the description, only appears in the base notes) but it stings the nose right away and reminds me of the Air Tiger.
- Once the scent settles and the "chaos" of the exploding accords calms down, it radiates an incredible warm yet soft tobacco/leather combination after about 1 hour, which I have rarely smelled, actually very mass-appealing and less niche than at the beginning.

About sillage and longevity:
- The projection this scent has surpasses all other Pana Dora fragrances; I own the Oud Republic and I would estimate this one to be nearly twice as strong, it goes extremely far and can definitely get on some people's nerves.
- I must say the longevity is actually a bit below that of the Oud Republic and I would place it at about 12 hours (in comparison, the Oud Republic lasts 3 days on clothing and 20 hours on skin).

Conclusion:
Get this scent after you have really tested it for 2-3 times if you like dry, leathery, woody, and somewhat spicy (herb-like but) scents where NOTHING sweet is involved!
Definitely good for layering with fruity scents! But it can also stand alone for sure!

Opens woody-aromatic (hints of Fan Your Flames). Evolves complex smoky-barbeque leather w/ an oriental feel. Kind-of lacks wearability.

Birch tar leather, slightly smoky, something is blooming somewhere, someone has applied an animalistic aftershave from the 70s.

At first, an surprisingly traditional leather note with (too rustic) birch tar, then it shifts back to niche-orient with oud, musk, and saffron.

The Stasi and the leather jacket. A biting leather scent that makes a statement. Not for those looking to just try a “leather fragrance.”

Exactly my kind of scent. Beautifully smoky at first with the incense, and over time, burnt leather, tobacco & woods take over.

Extremely great smoky leather scent that almost reminds me of smoky ham, yet it's an amazing fragrance - H/S brutal.
