Fresh, creative, balanced, enjoyable vetiver
Pretiosum Vetiverum is a beautiful original blend perhaps my most-worn scent from Dua Fragrances this year AND in recent years, judging by how much juice is missing from my initial bottle purchased this past summer.
It is a fresh vetiver, and the note breakdown supports this notion, its mix of citrus fruits, neroli, petitgrain, pink pepper, cardamom, florals, and quirky bits of nutmeg and ambergris providing a wholly lighthearted, easy-to-wear, versatile fresh blend. To that point, it’s very fresh, perhaps fresher than some of my other fresh vetiver favorites in Guerlain Vetiver and (especially) Roja Dove’s Vetiver Extrait, but still has some intriguing additives a far as the hearty petitgrain/neroli and spices of nutmeg, cardamom, and pink pepper. Arguably, it’s not really spicy, green, earthy, or dirty. It’s not clean, either, but the main point is that it’s not especially any one descriptor apart from a fresh vetiver; it’s enhanced by the supporting cast very well. It’s fresh, but still very interesting, and so positively agreeable that I could wear it in abundance any time.
Priced at $60 for 30ml, and generally available at a discount of at least 15% off, sometimes more, Pretiosum Vetiverum is more or less in the middle of Dua pricing, and despite not being one of the brand’s more robust performers, it’s nonetheless still a welcome value for such a well-crafted fragrance. It became an instant favorite upon first wearing and ranks highly among my favorite Dua releases of all time, so I’d certainly recommend it.
