The perfect vanilla (for me)

Hi everyone, 

As you are all good at giving recommendations, here am I.

A nice summer vanilla is missing in my collection. I would like something without "Play-doh" reminder. Also nothing with oud or Tonka bean, or with a boozy note. I dislike oud and Tonka and booz are more for winter.

I don't like Tom Ford or Kayali's vanillas. 

I was thinking at something with vanilla orchid or Madagascar Vanilla maybe.

And I don't mind if it's niche or designer.

Any suggestion?

Have you tried Ani X? It seems perfect for what you're describing. Citrusy vanilla that would work well for summer.

Well, I do love Bianco Latte - - - - smells like fat, raw milk with lots of vanilla and salted caramel and a little bit of green pudding… Please wait, I have to look for it .. ah! I see: Woodruff ^^

Oh, XyzXyz, I have already Bianco Latte in my collection, the epitome of a snowy Saturday afternoon, and so edible.

My boyfriend wears "Goddess | Burberry" and despite the composition being very simple, I think it’s a really glowing vanilla, well supported by the lavender.

The chord of iris-vanilla in Shalimar Millésime Iris is really beautiful, too. It’s not niche territory at all, but I find these very pleasant to have around.

In my opinion if you want the most realistic vanilla you can ever get, try Vanille de Tahiti Eau de Parfum. It's not sweet at all, just imagine smelling vanilla beans with nothing else.

I want to echo this recommendation for "Goddess | Burberry" - it's a lovely herbal vanilla with a bit of powder, similar to the feel of vanilla orchid in dry-down as you mentioned wanting this note.

It also has nothing boozy/"play-doh"/tonka bean/oud. Leans more "refreshing" - I can see it being suitable for summer! Best of luck in your search. 😊

P.S. I agree with you - I do not enjoy any Tom Ford or Kayali vanillas either!

I finally chose "Goddess | Burberry", the mix of Vanilla and Lavender works for me.

And today, I accidentally mixed it with "The Ghost In The Shell | Etat Libre d'Orange" and WOW, they have absolutely nothing in common, but the layering of those 2 is AMAZING.
