Looking for non-gourmand fall scent

Looking for non-gourmand fall scent 2

Hello all!

I was hoping to get a few recommendations from the group. I'm looking for a feminine-leaning cozy fall scent, but that isn't too gourmand. A gourmand note or two would be okay if they warm things up a bit, but just not as the star of the show. This would be for an everyday scent, and a couple notes that are hit or miss for me when they're too prominent are rose, oud, and sandalwood, so recommendations with those notes welcome, but if you have any ideas that don't contain them, I'd appreciate that too.

Is this an impossible task?

Hi @LauraR,

I hate gourmands and don't like rose either. Rose and sandalwood are in many perfumes, but I can wear the perfumes below without being bothered by these notes.

Ysatis Eau de Toilette (I don't detect the sandalwood in it);

Givenchy III (2007) (can be worn in all seasons though), has a bit of everything, love that scent!

Mitsouko Eau de Parfum (maybe not so much for the office Smile, I don't smell the rose note in it, not in the way I don't like it in rose forward scents). I find it very cozy, but it is a scent you should sample first, it is very unique.

Neon Amber Eau de Parfum

Crystal Noir Eau de Parfum (sandalwood is listed but it's not prominent at all)

Or how about citruses and freshies like Yellow Diamond Intense or Omnia Crystalline Eau de Toilette? Some people think those are for warm weather only but I think they are really uplifting during the cold and dark season. 😊

It's marketed as masculine but I think it's pretty unisex. London for Men Eau de Toilette is a great fall scent with tobacco and some florals. Fougère Royale (2010) Eau de Parfum has a similar opening to London but dries down to a herbal warm clean feel that's worth trying

Great suggestions! I'll check these out. I'm not a fan of some of the Versace Crystal perfumes but I haven't tried the ones you suggested, @Lempi , so I'll give those a try!

@AdrianPapaki Love this thinking outside the box! I'll take a look!

@Ringtale These are great options! Yes, sandalwood in the base is fine, but scents like Piano Santal or Santal Blush sadly aren't my thing. It's too bad because it is soothing and great for fall, but there's just something about it that turns me off.

Awesome, I wish you will enjoy them! 👍 Both Crystal Noir Eau de Parfum and Crystal Noir Eau de Toilette are really different from the others of the line in my opinion. I was also thinking if you like floral-ambery type of fragrances, probably Alien Eau de Parfum could be a great autumn choice. 😊

@Lempi Ooo, Alien's another great idea, I love jasmine.

For the fall season, I`m a big fan of Serge Lutens, Chergui Eau de Parfum and Five o'clock au gingembre are my favorites.

1

Animalique - White suede and light musks, a great blend of light and dark and perfect for fall.

Hinoki & Cedarwood - Bathing in forest temple hot spring. Serene, warm and clean.

Bois d'Arménie - A dusty library filled with ancient forgotten books and rare woods.

Sellier - Sipping earl grey tea in a study while it rains out. Dark, thoughtful and equal parts powerful and calming.

Thanks, @Raluko111 and @ScentToolbox ! These look really interesting!

My two fall scent that are very different : Orphéon Eau de Parfum very elegant, woody, spicy and powdery. And Like This , playful, with a musk and vétiver base but with a citrus+pumpkin note especially with the aromatics brought by the ginger, that make it savoury rather than sweet !

"Autumn Vibes" is an enjoyable fall and winter scent for me, quite lovely. Not sure if some of the notes would be to close to your dislikes though!
Worth a sniff if you ever come by it ^^

@Ebichuunee These are great options! I haven't smelled Orphéon Eau de Parfum yet, but I have a sample of Like This and I love your description!

@Chazzer I'll definitely try Autumn Vibes next time I'm in Sephora!
