A missed opportunity ..
I must admit that from the very powerful Acqua di Gió from the 90s which would fill a room with two sprays to the current "Parfum", I am lost in the Armani´s game of sending away the fans.

I have already reviewed the EDP, which was decent in DNA but very thin and fleeting, the EDT is a joke and should not be considered at all as a purchase, I literally sprayed 5ml once from a new bottle and I could have maybe 1 hour of silage..

But we come to the current one, and one comes with the hopes that "Parfum" should act like one and be concentrated, have 20%+ oil in the composition and develop an oily spot on the skin when sprayed.

I believe that if the ADG Parfum is indeed having the % and it´s not only a title, must be right above the 20% .. which is still half from what Profumum Roma will add to their bottles.

This one smells like the original Acqua di Gió DNA, maybe an improved EDT let´s say .. but for my nose and expectations this cannot be called a Parfum, not even by title only.

The Mugler line lost the Men (Pure Havane, Pure Malt, etc) .. the A.D.G Essenza is gone and also the Code EDP or Code Absolu/Profumo .. now the Acqua di Gió Profumo is getting axed to leave space for this ..

I am honestly very confused by L'Oréal S.A. because they have the money, the talent and the distribution and they could make some stellar products .. but instead they chose to kill the good ones and release countless flankers which only are annoying the fan base.

And another thing: No, this is not a replacement for Profumo.

Thanks for reading and for watching the video.

No need for this crazy nonsense
This is a combined review of the following which I tested on consecutive days using samples.
Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum
Acqua di Giò Parfum
Acqua di Giò Profondo
Acqua di Giò Profumo

Missing is Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum which was released after I had obtained my samples and plain old Acqua di Gio, which I didn't bother with.

I'll try to keep it short and sweet. They are all pleasant, fresh, masculine fragrances, different and with varying performance. The one I liked the best is Acqua di Gio Parfum. However, after recently dealing with ADP Colonia CLUB vs. Colonia C.L.U.B and then on these wrapping my head around EDT vs. EDP vs. Parfum vs. clear bottle vs. blue bottle vs. black bottle vs. Profundo vs. Profumo vs. available vs. discontinued, based on comments it turns out the Acqua di Gio Parfum is sold in a 2023 version vs. 2024 version and the only way to tell the difference (outside of smell) is if the cap is magnetic or not and where the writing is on the bottle. That doesn't help me since I have no idea what I sampled and what I would get via mail order - I say to hell with all of Acqua di Gio. The fragrance world is too big to have to deal with this crap. I'll use up my samples and that will be the end of it. There are good clones out there of these fragrances. At least I know what I will be getting with clones by mail order.

Profumo.
On my skin i feel this is a Profumo in a new bottle, marketing stuff.

Maybe they added a little more aroma chemicals but you could never tell “this is profumo” or “this is parfum” if you blind smell them.

Again, just marketing. Nothing new or different, don’t worry.

Performance is quite great, 8+ hours with a spray on my hand.

Profumo is alive, but with resinous twist
What struck me first about the 2024 batches of Acqua di Giò Parfum is how close they come to the old Profumo. If you’ve been missing Profumo, this feels like the most natural place to land.

Careful, the newer 2024 bottles, those with “Giorgio Armani” printed at the bottom and coming in 50, 100, or 200 ml, are better formulated than first edit of AdG Parfum (different layout and sizes).

Coming back to Parfum review, on my skin the resemblance of Profumo is immediate. Both share that clean aquatic-aromatic backbone, but the Parfum steers the formula toward resin rather than smoke. Where Profumo has that ash-and-incense shadow, Parfum brings a sharper, slightly herbal edge, almost certainly clary sage (like the one e.g. in CC Town&Country), giving it a bright, masculine snap that carries into the drydown.

As they develop, the overlap remains high. In most phases they’re 90–95% alike, but the endings tell the story. Profumo drifts into a darker, smoky space, while Parfum stays cleaner, more resinous, and a touch more modern. One feels like twilight, the other like late afternoon.
Performance is solid enough for daily use.

If I had to choose, Profumo wins. It simply has more character, and I just like ashy scents. But Parfum is not far behind, and definitely good enough to own. If you want a version of that familiar scent profile that leans cleaner and resin-forward instead of smoky, this one fits perfectly. AdG Parfum has a solid place in my collection being the all-rounder and no-brainer I pick whenever I just want to smell good and it is the best of the AdG line at the moment.

Best Acqua di Gio as of this moment
I want to begin by mentioning that while I somewhat enjoyed Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum , despite its lackluster performance and its scent being reminiscent of Dylan Blue in the drydown, I never found Acqua di Giò Profondo (2020) Eau de Parfum Acqua di Giò Profondo (2024) Eau de Parfum or the new Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette appealing, as they smell too generic for my taste. The new Acqua di Giò Elixir smells like something from 15-20 years ago.

On the other hand, Aqua di Gio Parfum stands out as one of the best grab-and-go options you can have in your collection. Among the contemporary Aqua di Gio fragrances available on the market that are not discontinued, I believe this one is the finest.

The fragrance is smooth, mass appealing, and incredibly delicious. It's a blue scent that can be worn in any situation, and has a subtle sweetness that complements the overall composition beautifully. it's also very modern, does not smell old or outdated at all, any age can wear it.

It's not something that you will use to impress anyone or to make a statement, it's just to feel refreshed and have a very nice scent on you with an excellent versatility.

In terms of performance, it's quite decent; you'll want to apply at least 6-7 sprays to maximize its potential, and it will last around 7-9 hours, especially if you apply it to your clothes. Being a fresh fragrance and a parfum, it behaves accordingly. This scent is very suitable for the office, projecting for about an hour at a distance of 1 meter before settling closer to you with a consistent aura or bubble. I can still catch some not very faint wafts after 7-8 hours, particularly when my skin and clothes warm up. This is the best performing Acqua di Gio that we have available.

It's a fresh and great mass-appealing fragrance that nobody can dislike; it's like a Swiss army knife. Yes, I do wish it was a bit stronger, but that might compromise its smoothness or alter the scent profile, which I believe is perfect as it stands now.

Anyone claiming bad performance is either trolling, got a fake bottle and or needs to get their nose checked. 8+ hours on my skin.

This is a Patriots wide receiver in a bottle. Lives the "do your job" mantra. Easy to wear, more interesting than many other blue freshies.

The milking process on duty ...take the bottle of profumo, put some more amberwood or some artificial amber / san/sol and there it is

This feels like l'Oreal answered calls to keep Profumo alive. They gave it a smooth haircut, shave & new suit and sent it back out to work.

Pleasant, fresh and generic opening. The drydown is a less dark and incensy Acqua di Giò Profumo. Just one more fresh aquatic scent.

AdG = utilitarian fragrance apotheosis. Parfum doesn't break the equation, but makes it a bit less boring (more mature?). Happy with my 15ml

Better than Profumo. Prefer the brighter and greener scent over the incense vibe of Profumo.
