Plagiarism
This smells 99.9% identical to Midnight Degree by the same house of Boadicea the Victorious. But $1,400 more expensive. I find BTV does this a lot.

Nebulous = Midnight Degree.
Elaborate= Complex.
Mayfair= Victory.
Tiangou = The King. BTV Hood collection.

Save money and buy the cheaper!

Astronomical
I went down to Harrods to try this perfume and I have been blown away! I had one spray on my wrist which was beast mode and its the third day and I can still smell the dry down which is exquisite woody, musky animalic. This perfume has surpassed all of Roja Dove's creations and anything out there. I was told Nebulous has 43% perfume oils more than the standard parfum (15-30%) concentration. The initial spray is a blast of the rose and saffron and then the ouds and after 12 hours or more it turned into this divine skin scent which I have been getting wafts off from my wrist, third day today. This is one astronomical perfume and worth every penny spent. Yes, it is very very expensive at £1250 but I got the Harrods 10% discount which helped. Life is short and you live only once, so why not enjoy the little luxuries of life if one gets the chance. I would highly highly recommend Nebulous to anyone to try who is up for the challenge. Just one spray is enough and this bottle will last a lifetime. Kudos to Boadicea

Yet another Rose-Oud?!
What can one expect from a fragrance at such a high price?! Since expectations are not met openly, especially with certain brands, I will only describe/judge the scent here. And I want to be as objective as possible.

Essentially, Nebulous is not for everyone. It certainly won't be a big "Crown-Pleaser" because of its opening. Upon spraying, it goes straight into the heart notes, namely Oud (presumably Hindi, of high quality) and violet. The violet rounds off the Oud and makes it wearable for those who are not used to the natural Oud scent. The rose remains (to my delight) far in the background and does not disturb the composition at all. Is it animalic? Maybe only at the beginning. It also depends on what standards you use. Overall (and compared to other Boadicea the Victorious fragrances), it is quite tame. The combination of Oud, saffron, and musk gives it a leathery-woody character, which remains somewhat blurred. You won't find any sharp edges here.

After about 2-3 hours, the base notes come into play. At this point, the main transformation occurs. The fragrance becomes very soft, slightly resinous, and sweet (but not cloyingly sweet). This is probably the representation of amber. It is light brown and glowing; with traces of rose that have always hidden in the background. Nevertheless, almost nothing remains of what was smelled at the beginning.

It is a subtle scent (as there are less attractive scents from the brand), but certainly not the best in this category. If one wants to go in this direction, they should try the cheaper "Dead of Night" by Strangelove NYC. "The Night" by Frederic Malle would also be a good candidate.

In conclusion: It is not impressive. The only surprising element here was the violet, which one would not normally find in such fragrances. In terms of performance, the scent was also not a heavyweight. Although all notes can be clearly recognized here, the sum remains quite "nebulous," hence I find the name quite fitting.

The Too Big Stage
You surely know this. You are constantly searching for that one, suitable stage for yourself, but the current offerings only provide you with these small, pitiful things that you really shouldn't, don't want to, and can't stand on.
Especially not when you've already stood on all these stages; then you know what to expect:

Rose and Oud, you know it, it was probably nice to stand next to it at first, to get to know it, but then, at some point, you just know it, and that's enough, you think, while secretly longing for a bigger stage.

An even bigger stage, with even more glitter, spotlight lights, and an audience; which one would think inevitably comes with the bigger stage. And then, suddenly, it happens.
Rose and Oud, even bigger, more beautiful, and more phenomenal than ever before. BAM!

But beware! Not everyone grants you that. The big stage. What's it about?
Is it perhaps because the rose, as your article already suggests, is feminine?
Could it be that one does not want to grant HER such a significant role? And who is actually 'one'?
Roses are nice and cute, okay, proud too, but please subordinate, flowery, naive, devoted; just a flower. Pretty to look at, that's all that’s needed, that's all that men expect in our all too chief male world.
No matter what SHE has to offer, it quickly becomes too much for the pudgy wooden heads, as she could outshine them, and where would that lead us?
Better a daily little girl comment from girls who aren't even girls.

Sanctions are initiated; she better not talk, say, or write.
Jokes below the belt and butt slaps must be there. People know that, people eat that up.
And yet, that Oud, gender-oriented, is also just a hybrid.

Nebulous seeks the big stage and its kind.
...and actually has no place on Parfumo. ;)

There’s a very prominent “bitter” quality to the fragrance that I am not a fan of. It’s actually very unpleasant. “The night” is better.

A rather challenging and animalic, powdery oriental floral-woody Winter fragrance, with a pungent and cheesy, salty/spicy opening.

Blows its load with an overly strong oud opening. Quickly turns into a rosé oud, not too much rosé but also not special. It's okay.

And once again, simply out of principle because you can: Rose-Oud
Lightly animalic. Oud
Fruity rose
Soft leathery saffron
Creamy amber

Rose is beautifully enveloped by musk. Wonderfully balanced animalistic. All 6 components are clearly perceptible. Incredibly rich & high-quality!

Rose-Oud, enough is enough!
The "flattering" price doesn't make it any better.
Try something else, this isn't worth it.

Oud, yes, definitely one of the better ones. Saffron, sure, that's in there too. But the rose, man, the rose! And the amber in the depth. Magnificent!

One spray and I was transported to another place: the organic waste at the local recycling center.
I’ll gladly leave that to others.
