Sweet and slightly damp

Of Carolina Herrera's Bad Boy line, I've only tested the Cobalt Elixir. It starts off sweet, quite peppery, with some dampness from black truffle. The sweetness in the beginning reminds me of some sort of hair conditioner product. Not initially in a gourmand way but vanilla comes forth after an hour.

The pepper tones down, the frankincese comes out, the vanilla sweetness increases, and the black truffle steadily remains, which my colleague (who gave me the sample) didn't like.

This reminds me of Allure Homme Sport Eau de Toilette with a sweet finish. Nice, almost aquatic scent with not much performance at around five hours total, getting pretty quiet after the first two hours. I feel like this has good projection but only for the first hour. Need to get closer to enjoy this one after that.

I use this from a sample when on a run by the beach, but not for any other occasion. I would have no desire to buy a full bottle.

An Ordinary Linear Fragrance

An Ordinary perfume that It smells similar to many perfumes in the market. I smelled more than one thousand perfumes up to now and I must tell you honestly that this fragrance is not special. When I bought another scent I received two samples of that. It opens up with sweet warm spicy then dry down is sweet vanilla ambery and woody. This is a linear scent from the opening up to the dry down. Don't buy it blind-buy. Longevity is good

Yummy rum baba dessert

Sweet, youthful, easy to breathe in even at the very start. Pepper and sage give it a gentle spiciness that reminds me of rum baba dessert. Playful booziness stings your nose a little at first, but once you bite into it, the moist pastry and mellow vanilla custard envelop your tongue and everything comes together in such a delicious way...

It lasted a bit more than ~6 hours and settled close to the skin after the first ~2. Pepper withered away somewhere at that point, while hints of sage could be felt until the very end. A gentle vanilla-flavored woodiness stayed at the forefront, unchanging, the whole time. Nice, creamy and very satisfying (but also made me feel kinda hungry).

I was afraid to try this one based on my unpleasant experience with the original Bad Boy Cobalt, but they ended up being nothing alike. It's honestly great! I'm not interested in wearing gourmand scents nowadays, but would have loved to own something like this a decade ago.

An absolute under appreciated STUNNER!

I’ve been collecting two decades now and have owned high end niche to high end designer and Cobalt Elixir still remains one of my all time favorites! It’s one of the few fragrances I’m actually glad it isn’t very popular and not talked about much. Less people wearing it and more uniqueness to it overall.. To me this is just such a sexy and intoxicating fragrance.. if I was just judging by the notes only I would probably guess I wouldn’t care for a fragrance like this but luckily my first encounter with Cobalt Elixir was when I was sampling fragrances at Ulta. I remember coming in specifically to grab one fragrance for the collection that day and had sampled like 10 fragrances and nothing was really speaking to me yet.. Well then I finally came to Cobalt Elixir... I remember the employee spraying it on a tester strip and immediately catching it in the air and my eyes lit up, then I actually smelt the card itself and without any hesitation I blurted out l “Yep thats it! This is the one! Grab me the biggest bottle you carry.” It is pretty rare for me that a fragrance grabs me up like that but Cobalt Elixir definitely did..

Nice Scent for Everyday Use

I got the Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir about 4 weeks ago in the 50 ml version. In the perfume store, it had a great opening and actually smelled different. It opens fresh and a bit peppery and becomes sweeter and more vanilla-like in the drydown. Whether a bad boy smells like this in the end, I seriously doubt. However, the elixir is definitely not a bad scent that you can wear on many occasions. A flanker that you can definitely give a chance. I think it's good. But if you are a big bad boy, then go for something with leather, this one is surely too soft for you.
